Fulham just came out so hot early in the year scoring goals galore and then all of a sudden they decided to take a nose dive for the rest of the season up to this point.

Also the FA Cup is and forever will be the most prestigious domestic cup in England so its still solid.

I'm still LOLing at Norwich right now.

That's embarrassing. Don't let QPR off the hook also they lost to MK Dons which are like league 2 or something.

They lost to a league 1 side but that type of loss is more acceptable than what Villa and Norwich have had lately.  Its still pretty bad though haha.

Galatasary just became a more interesting team to watch in the Champions League.   They've added Wesley Schneider and now Didier Drogba to their squad....neither are cup-tied.

Spurs lose but this wonderful piece of skill by Bale made it a match worth watching...

That's slow motion and doesn't show the whole run.   If his centering pass had resulted in a goal that's a run we'd be watching for years.

The nutmeg was pretty nice but the move isn't anything special. I could do that since I was 7.

The nutmeg with the guys feet spread far apart is nice but the high speed turn is nothing?   mmmmmkay

It is an easy move to do. I am a big soccer player and it isn't that hard to do. I could do it in game since I was seven. A nutmeg is harder to do in the flow of a game.

You see nutmegs every single game.   You do not see turns that fast and smooth every game.  Yes turning with the ball is easy too, but it's the speed that makes it so impressive and something I almost never see.

It's all opinion anyway, so I guess agree to disagree.

Not debating anymore, just curious since you played soccer longer than I did it seems.   If it's so easy to do at speed and in the flow of the game, why does it almost never happen?  (I watch way too much soccer for my own good, so it's not like I only watch Spurs games).   The only player I can think of that does it on a semi-regular basis is Cristiano Ronaldo.   I think I've seen Nani do it a few times too.

Barca players do it a lot too but they're always taking a pass and turning from a stationary position which negates the speed/movement aspect that I find so impressive about Bale's move.

When I was looking up the gif in the first place it usually popped up with the descriptor "Zidane turn" or "Maradona turn".

I don't really know. I seemed to do it the most when I was on a full sprint and took too big of a touch. I then could reach for the ball without breaking stride and spin off of the defender. It is a great move that works 90% of the time.

I think if you could pull that off 90% of the time I'd be posting gifs of you, hah.   Did you play in college though?

No, but going along with the gif, it seemed that Bale used it in the situation that I described. It was a 50-50 ball after the nutmeg and he used it to just spin off of the defender. Oh and the reason that I gave it the 90% success rate was because I knew when to use it and I used it in situations that had a high success rate.
