Dawgs just picked up a commitment from JUCO offensive tackle Mark Beard of Coffeyville CC, who committed to Georgia over MSU and Arkansas. He's currently rated 3* by 247 sports, and was a much-needed pickup at a position of need for us.

Beard is a nice pickup for this class. He already has the physical stature needed to compete on an SEC LOS.  Another nice job by Will Friend............

S&C for championship football at UGA has returned to the proven Kasay way.

We've got a good shot with Gurley, he's buddies with Marshall so that works in our favor. It'll come down to UNC and us for him. Dunno what to expect with JHC, honestly. Word is our chances have gotten MUCH better with Jordan Jenkins, and there's a rumor floating around that the Jenkins family may have gotten just a little fed up with all the negative recruiting that Kirby Smart was using to try to sway him. The Jenkins really like Mark Richt, and the word is that Jordans dad kind of threw a comment that Kirby had made about Richt getting fired at the end of the year back in his face after word of his extension came out. I think we get Avery Young. I don't think we get Patterson.

Two mods from two different 24/7 sites are calling Jenkins to Florida.

But he's annoucing at 7:00pm right before the National Title, so I have to think it's still Bama.

W00t! UGA picked up a HUGE commitment today with the top prospect in the state, DE Jordan Jenkins out of Harris county. Harris was an 11th hour pickup that the Dawgs stole away from (most assumed) Alabama late in the game. Could be a real momentum-changer for this class, much like the Malcolm Mitchell commitment was last year.

All indications are that Jenkins is good enough to play from day one in Athens in 3rd down pass-rushing situations and will eventually be the replacement for Washington or Jarvis Jones.

There are recruits saying that Harvey-Clemons is recruiting them to go to UGA with him. This could wind up to be a very good class.

Yep, have heard that as well, and wouldn't be surprised if he makes a public commitment soon. I expect Todd Gurley to commit this Friday as well. Class could really be rolling now that Jenkins has committed.

Hopefully the commitment from Jenkins gets the momentum going to finish this class out strong. To compete with Alabama and LSU, as McGarity said, we need to have Dream Teams every year............

Back off.

I hate that we can't get one damn 5* running back, but UGA gets 3 every year.

Maybe you should just pass on the predictions for a while............

Well, I can tell you that we're looking to make a splash on signing day. About eight or nine guys out there that we're looking to land commitments from on NSD. Several of which are already committed to other schools. There's a potential to either hit a home run, or swing and miss. Names to look out for on NSD are Josh Harvey-Clemons, Avery Young, Jaquay Williams (currently an Auburn commit), Josh Dawson (committed to vandy), and a few others. Could be a very exciting day, or a disappointing one. Definitely be a lot to pay attention to on signing day.
