Both of us may have said it...and it was true at the time. As far as Meyer's statements re: Addazio...sounds like "coach-speak" to me. He isn't going to do anything until after the bowl game. I know the boosters are calling for Addazio's head...they pay Meyer's salary...I don't see how Meyer could let this "dog and pony show" continue.

The actual video looks MUCH more like coach-speak than what all these articles are trying to portray.
I just hope that's what it is.

Isn't this Brantley's first year?  He's either a sophomore or a junior I think.  He looks more suited as a pocket passer and less of a spread QB to me.  He's better than Chris Todd, but it seems kind of like AU running the O they had last year with Todd.  Florida has had some post Tebow letdown, they are missing some guys that they had last year, key injuries this year and the SEC West + USC is stacked.  I'm not sure what adjustments Addazio is supposed to make mid season, but its not entirely his fault.  You guys still need a Trent Richardson/Mike Dyer type of back.  I do think that he did not get the playmakers the ball enough with enough creativity to keep defenses off-balance.  Best of luck with the search.

Ugh, I'm pretty sure that was me.

Addazio has some sort of voodoo spell over Meyer. Did anyone watch him speak at Media Day yesterday?
He was pretty much singing the same old tune about how we failed to execute and our game plan wasn't the problem. I'm actually sick to my stomach thinking about it.
It doesn't sound like Addazio's going anywhere...
Urban Meyer says Steve Addazio will remain Florida's offensive coordinator - ESPN

I wouldn't give that article and presser much weight; Meyer basically said the only thing he can before the season is over. He can't start making threats or talk about demotions right now (especially in public), because there aren't any good OC's available until after the season; and he'd be a fool to cause a rift with SA right now when so many of our top recruits are his responsibility. My guess is we won't see or hear anything significant about an OC replacement until after this season is over and our class is signed. Any other way would be kind of stupid with only 2 games left.

13 players from last season's team are on NFL rosters today...we've been without Demps due to injury and Rainey due to stupidity for much of the season.  We've had several injuries on both sides of the ball that have hurt the Gators.  However, 50 yds of offense and 2 first downs at the half vs USCe is completely unacceptable.  USCe is playing well this season...and I thought prior to the season that they would give us all we wanted...however, to lose like that, without even putting up a fight, was embarrassing.  There's no excuse for it.  What's amazing...as bad as the Gators are this season, they still had a chance to play for the SEC.  Wow...how truly bad the East is this season.

Agreed.  Now...I heard SA today say he has every intention on being UF's OC for many seasons to come...is this guy really that clueless?  He's a great recruiter...and when its his only responsibility, a great OL coach as well.  But he has no business calling plays at UF...and Meyer better change it this Spring...or he will be sitting on one of the hottest seats in America next Fall.

The same could be said about Richt...he was the offensive mastermind behind f$u's offensive success in the late 90's which included a National Title.  As I said in another thread, assistant coaches can make or break a head coach.  Give me one case where a head coach was successful while employing crappy assistants.

BTW...I'm pretty sure that's my quote...did you copy and paste that and save it?  To quote one of your own, Bry, how long have you been waiting to pull that quote out? :)  I typed that over a year ago!!  All jokes aside, at the time, it was the truth.  I'll admit, now, it's not...I honestly think my mechanic...who volunteers for my old HS football team, could do a better job than Addazio.

Well I think at the time I was arguing that UGA was on its way up because they were getting rid of the extra weight and that UF would take a hit because they lost two great coaches. What makes a good head coach now a days is getting the right staff underneath you, and being a good recruiter, not really your coaching abiliteis
