Arkansas has been known to have excellent special teams historically, specifically before the Nutt era. All American Steve Little still holds a NCAA record-tying 67-yard field goal in 1977. Other All-American kickers at Arkansas include Kendall Trainor, Bill McClard, and Bruce Lahay.

After the 08-09 season, Arkansas was in desperate need for a consistent and productive kicker. In '09, Arkansas lost 2 games by 3 points with missed field goals earlier in the game. Kicker was an absolute focal point in recruiting.

Arkansas originially had gained the commitment from William Russ out of Shreveport, La. However, once his commitment leaked, Texas offered Russ late and Russ switched, leaving Arkansas needing to find a new kicker. Arkansas already had another kicker commited, but they took a chance and decided to offer current ASU (Arkansas State) commit Zach Hocker out of Russellville, AR. As a lifelong Razorback fan, he immediately swithed.

In his true freshman season, he is helping the team tremendously and his stats prove it. Here is Zach Hocker's field goals and PAT attempts so far in the 2010 football season.

On PAT's he is 39/39. He did have a blocked PAT, but that's not on Hocker.

On FG's, He's 9/10

He had 1 miss in the aTm game. I believe it was a 44 yarder.

To have the brilliant success as a true freshman with an impressive career-long 51 yarder last game at S.Car, has Arkansas got another All-American specialist in the making?

Shaping up to be that way. Shouldn't be any Liberty Bowl shenanigans under this guy.

Its nice to finally have a kicker that you can have faith in everytime he heads onto the field.  Hate it for Camara, he won't have a scholarship after this year.  Oh, and thank you William Russ, for decommitting and signing with Texas.
