Who was President of the United States the last time Kentucky beat Florida in football?

Ask your coach...

Meyer talking about Cobb

“I think he's a dynamic player that's going to play at the next level, and I can't wait to get him the heck out of this league,” Meyer said. “That's probably what I told him. I'll tell him that Saturday, too.” At Media Days, Meyer expressed to Cobb his disappointment that the Gators hadn't recruited him out of Alcoa (Tenn.) High School.
“I'm trying to find out whose recruiting area that was,” he told reporters this week. “I'd fire them if they were here, but they're probably gone.”

Yeah I don't know what Fatty was thinking when he made that post. To be fair, though, Meyer had similar praise for B.J. Daniels (USF's QB) heading into their game 2 weeks ago. It's the Lou Holtz' school of motivation.

Tennessee (1-2)

Total Opp Record (4-4)

This post about sums up my response to the OP. You can't make a valid statistical comparison when the teams haven't played the same level of competition.

So you think Cobb would have won the job over Brantley?  Keep in mind that Cobb would have sat behind Tebow up to this point.

Well I know that Cobb was a QB coming out of High School, but he is a wide receiver now.

If UK was smart enough to move him, surely Florida would have too.

No. But he would be in Trey Burton's role right now. Can you imagine how dangerous that would be????

So let me ask you this.  Do you think A) Any of those players from UK would have been signed by UF out of highschool and B) Any of those players would compete and win the starting spot at UF right now?

Again, it's apples and oranges.  The teams are in two different classes of football.  That's evident in the lopsided nature of the rivalry.

It's like comparing UK basketball and SC basketball.  It's not a very good assessment to think SC would be favored this year because KY lost nearly their entire lineup and SC returns most of theirs.

Here's a fun stat: South Carolina BBall coach Darrin Horn is 3-1 against Kentucky since coming to Columbia.

I'm back, :lanekiffin: ers.

All I want to know is how this has turned into a USC v Kentucky basketball thread.

Like I said in the thread that Pudding moved to smack talk.  If you're so certain of an upset, put your money up.  The line is at 14.  I'm very confident UF will win the game.  Whether they make the line or not, is another matter (I'm not totally confident about that).

Again, it's reasonable to think UK will cover.  It's pretty bold and out there to actually think they'll upset FL.  FL has way too much defense, way too much depth and again, even with our struggles, we're scoring 30+ points a game.  Just imagine what the game looks like if we don't muff punts or put snaps on the turf............

I didn't move any thread to smack talk.  Settle down there.  Just because everyone hates Florida.....

All I hear about people describing how good Florida can be are "ifs"  Until then you're a work in progress.  Get over it already.

Random thoughts...

Cobb is a WR not a QB.  He would star at UF if he was there.

UK beat Miami OH 42-0 last year in Cincy.  UF played a sloppy game and didn't win by much.

WKU (Rainey is tough) rushed for more yards against Nebraska than UK.

UofL played Oregon State VERY WELL this past weekend...@ Oregon State.

UF has more overall talent without question, that being said.  Locke and Cobb are good enough to start for them and our defense is young but talented.  We got some hitters in the secondary.

Ronald Reagan (what does that have to do with this Saturday?)

Since Cal was hired...USC is 1-1 against UK in bball with one fluke win.  You will remain with one win against us until Cal leaves OR another fluke occurs.  ;-)

Fatty...why do you continue to act like someone raped your dog?  It's not like you didn't think your bball team was gunna beat UK this past year even though everyone else knew you had no shot?!?!  It's what fans do.  We BELIEVE in our team.  I personally think UF is down this year (stats confirm) and our offense is rolling (stats confirm).  Can UK win in The Swamp?  No doubt about it (we won @ Auburn and @ Georgia last year (two bowl teams)).  Will we win?  Doubt it, but since I'm a hopeless homer...I'll say UK by 5.

Like I said, EVEN WITH our struggles, we're good enough to beat Kentucky.  "IF" we get everything solved and fire all cylinders, it'll be business as usual....you know....41-7, 62-3, etc, etc, etc.

I fully admit the game will probably be closer than it's been in years past, but to think UK is going to make up all that ground and that UF has fallen that far, is a bit of a stretch.

how is is a stretch to think that UF has fallen that far? Look at all the stats just in this thread, let alone all over the web.

A couple things. First last year is not this year. Miami(OH) is one of the more improved teams in the country this year. (They've already doubled their win total from last year.:D)

Locke would not start over Demps. I'll give you Cobb staring over Burton in whatever hell that position is called that Urb has him playing. (I'm gonna go baseball and call it the utility position.)

I appreciate the disclaimer before your prediction.:D

Finally....a reasonable post.  If we pull it off Saturday, you're the first person I'm comin for.   If you blow us out, you can say I told you so.  If it's another version of 2007, then we can move on to next week.
