Any team can contend to win the game at hand....that kinda goes without saying don't you think?

Do you HONESTLY believe that Arkansas can "contend" to win ANY championship this year? If you want, I can blow sunshine up your ass and tell you that. Anything is possible. Likely? No.

The definition you're looking for is "spoiler." I completely admit...Arkansas has the potential to "spoil" someone's perfect season, or to "upset" a higher ranked team or two.

You win. Arkansas is definitely a contender this year. I'm not sure exactly what they're in "contention" for...but they're a contender.

If Arky's run game and defense have truly improved then they can contend for the SEC West. They have the best QB in the conference (maybe the nation) and the best WR corps in all of college football. But you keep on hatin there Fatty.

Hating? I'm an SEC fan. I'd love to see Arky in the SEC title game. It'd be a whole lot easier to beat Arkansas than Alabama.

I'm not hating, you're drinking koolaid.

Arkansas will be LUCKY to finish third in the West and it will be astonishing for them to finish 2nd.

You are what I would describe as the perfect "mark" when it comes to betting. You're emotional and severely overvalue your own team. I seriously hope you don't bet on them this year. You're gonna be singin' the blues....

If you're gonna talk smack, you need to back it up.

In order for Arkansas to "contend" for the SEC West, they're gonna HAVE to beat 2 out of the 3 (of Auburn, AL, LSU).

Even then, if they LOSE to AL, they'd need to hope that AL dropped 2 games (otherwise AL would win the tie breaker).  And THAT is possible, given that they play UF this year, but not what I would be confident enough to describe as "likely."

I'm not a homer.  I'm a UF fan, but AL is still the favorite to win the SEC and a pretty sizeable favorite to win the West.  Again, the ONLY thing that endangers that is really that the SEC uses conference record and not divsional record to determine the divisional champs.

LSU plays UF every year, so they're already at a disadvantage.

If you honestly think that Arkansas has a chance of winning the West, then I'm sure you won't mind betting the money line on all three LSU, AL and Auburn.

That way, if they win 2/3, you come out ahead.  If they lose 2/3, then my statement stands, that they're not a contender......
