There is a special advantage to having a system like none other in the conference, When the tide prepares form TN, MSU, and FL, it won't be preparing for the Tigers. I put us in the same boat as Arkansas for now, high flyin offense, now we just have to get some D!

I'm just trying to figure out what his beef is what our offense? It's the only thing that kept us in games. If it were up solely to our defense last year (like 2008), then we wouldn't have beaten anyone except MAYBE Furman.
I compared our offense to Alabama, Florida, Arkansas, and UGA (for the hell of it), only in SEC games (to get rid of inflated numbers against weak OOC competition) and here's what I came up with:
Auburn:
total rushing yards-----1629

In conclusion:
In regular-season SEC games, only Arkansas produced more yards (by 49). Meanwhile, we were the 2nd most balanced team offensively (54% rushing/46% passing) to only Alabama (49% rushing/51% passing) in those same games. Again, if you are a true Auburn fan (which I don't think you are), you should be more concerned with our defense than our "high school offense" that is among the best in the league.

From an outsider, after those first few games, your offense didn't really look that special. In fact, the new guy seems spot on about Malzan not making halftime adjustments. Didn't do it against UK, Bama and UGA and got beat. And honestly (it was a long time ago, so forgive me if I'm mistaken) no adjustments were made after that quick start against NW in the bowl game. And even though they turned it over like 400 times, the lack of 2nd half offense let them back in it, I think.

I was gonna call the new guy on this, but decided not to. Since you brought it back up, I'll address it.
You probably didn't follow our games when Tuberville was the coach, but near the end of his time here, we near-literally never made any halftime adjustments.
In contrast to that, this year we made a TON of halftime adjustments. Some of them so subtle that no casual fan would notice (same plays out of different sets, different motions) that would catch the defense off-guard. Again, the reason we lost a lot of games late last year was the lack of depth on DEFENSE. Of course, our offense could probably have been better, and yes, offensive penalties (false starts :brick: ) killed us quite a few times, putting the defense back on the field. But ultimately, we just couldn't stop anybody in the fourth quarter last year.

What? You mean The Guru didn't adjust the offense?
I kid I kid.
Seriously, that makes sense. I was probably just hoping for no adjustments because I want MSU to be better than AU this year and just seeing what I wanted to see. ha

speaking of adjustments i wanna say it was the beginning of the second half in the MSU @ AU game where we blew the game open

One aspect that many are ignoring when disparaging our offense, is that Malzhan did not have the type of players he needs to really open up his playbook. His offense calls for players who can play every single snap without having to rotate personnel. Last year we simple did not have the people to do that. This was key in that other team could recognize what we were doing by who rotated in or out of the game.
Also, this offense also calls for a mobile dual threat QB, the only QB I've ever seen in orange and blue that was less mobile than Todd was this guy...

I believe in the Auburn MSU game you will notice that State's defense never stopped the rush or the pass the whole game, adjustments had little to do with it. Near the start of last season I think MSU's D was pretty rough.
My comments on the offense don't speak on it's ability to win games. The first year has made that clear.
If you remember I was speaking of a Championship Defense.
I want to see rings on the plains, not just wins
