You will love them.

Did you feet hurt when you first started wearing 'em? Like did you get blisters or anything?

I'm back, :lanekiffin: ers.

I grew up in mississippi and wore no shoes around a lot, so I am not prone to blistering.  They do take some getting used to though, and you might actually find different muscles in your feet sore at first.

My big toes are blistering but that seems to be it. I noticed that when I was running, at first I was hitting the ground hard as hell and it was hurting the bottoms of my feet (i was running like I would with shoes on), and then I adjusted to a more smooth stride and my feet stopped hurting, then the blisters kicked in.

And yes, my feet are already getting sore.

and WE'RE the rednecks?  actually, speaking of rednecks, i think its totally unarguable that bama isnt the biggest neck school in the sec.  displaying the nat champ trophy at walmart sealed the deal on that one.  if there is any doubt anymore, just see the thread mentioned above.

Wearing no shoes seems to be more of a hippie thing in Alabama than redneck.

The rednecks always have on boots.

So I went and bought some today:

And brought them to the gym. I ran with them on the treadmill so I could try to get used to them before I ran on the track. For the first 3/4 of a mile, they felt amazing. As close as you can get to running with bare feet, but with good protection. But then I got blisters on my big toes (I always get blisters when I run, no matter what shoe I wear or what I put on my feet). I've never gotten a blister there before, and the traditional areas of my feet (the balls of my feet) where I always get blisters were pain free.

Also, I have early signs of knee problems... I've been told by doctors that I have 'arthritis' in my left knee..whatever that means... and it gets stiff when I run, and my feet usually fall asleep, along with my ankles hurting and both my knees hurting. I ran a total of about a mile today (all I could do b/c of the blisters) and nothing was in pain, and my knees and ankles felt great. I could definitely feel muscles in my feet and lower legs being worked that I'd never ran with though.

Overall, I'm very happy with them. Once I get used to wearing and running with them I think I'll actually enjoy running for once, because it will be pain free.

I'll have to get me a pair of the ones with closed tops in a couple months once I'm used to them, though, because I can't wear these at military PT... they don't resemble shoes enough. The 'KSO's' do though, and I'll buy a pair once my feet are accustomed to running in them:

That's what she said...
