Word on the street is left tackle, James Carpenter is out with the flu and lock down (yes Muggz, I have seen the light) cornerback, Marquis Johnson broke his left thumb.

Both Carpenter and Johnson returned to practice yesterday.  Guess who else participated in practice.... Dont'a Hightower and Damion Square.

That's awesome. I didn't think he would come back for this season.

Dont'a won't play in the bowl game, no way. I bet he was wearing the black no-contact jersey.

It's good to know he is doing a lot better, though!

Good then the pants crapping taking place at UT can resume its previous pace.

Not only Hightower, but Square too. They're both key players on the defense

Neither will be be playing in the bowl game.  You simply do not recover from reconstructive knee surgery that fast.  They are participating in light non-contact drills because their rehab has proceeded to the point that they can; but they will be providing only moral support to the team.

As others have said, Square and Hightower won't actually play in the bowl game, but the fact that they are practicing with the team now is not only is a terrific sign that their recoveries are going well...It's also great for them individually to at least feel as if they are taking part in preparing for the National Championship with the rest of their teammates. They deserve it. I think both will be household names for this Crimson Tide defense in the next two or three years.

Actually, I do not want them to play. Let them get completely well. No need to rush it. We are okay. But won't it be GREAT when they DO get well? :D

Looks like they're well ahead schedule to be ready for Spring drills, which is great news.
