Tide fans are ecstatic about the commitment of Rivals100 receiver DeAndrew White on Monday, but will the euphoria last if Texas comes calling and makes a firm offer to the four-star speedster?

According to White, Alabama has nothing to worry about.

"My decision is solid. I am done. I respect Texas as a program, but Alabama had what I wanted in a program," said White on Wednesday night. "I am not visiting any other school other than Alabama. My trip will be to Tuscaloosa, and that will probably be after the season maybe on my official visit."

After originally discussing plans to make several recruiting visits before settling on a school, White took the drama out of the decision early with a phone call to Tide Coach Nick Saban last Thursday.

"Coach Saban just said he was really happy to have me. You could tell it made his day. I was glad that he was just as happy as I was," said White. "My family was very supportive of my decision. My mom really loves Coach Saban and Coach (Bo) Davis. Coach Davis was a big part of why I committed. He got on me early and stayed with me from the beginning. It was a loyalty factor for sure. I can talk with Coach Davis about anything.

"I decided to get it over with because for starters, Alabama has great academics. That was the thing that impressed my family and myself. Then I saw how early guys like Julio Jones played and I want to have that same kind of impact. I think I can get on the field early, and I am looking forward to that challenge. Alabama is going to push me to be my best."

White hasn't had a huge senior year so far due to constant double and even triple coverages. Several Friday nights of bad weather have also slowed down the North Shore passing attack.

"We have lost two games this season, but one game was to Katy who is undefeated and we beat Southlake-Carroll. I am now going to focus on finishing strong because we can still win a state championship," said White. "I have one more chance to bring home a state championship in high school before I go start winning national championships at Alabama."
