may not play for MSU this weekend due to too many concussions. Coach Mullen's official statement on Zach Smith condition is that he is sick and listed as day-to-day right now.

My dad and Zach's dad are close friends and he said that his season is over and possibly even his career:( Me and Zach are pretty close he was even the ball boy for my highschool my senior year. He is a great kid and is really down in the dumps right now my dad said. I hope he will be able to play again because he is a great kid and gives his all everytime he is on the field.

yeah this has been the rumor going around....we have all given zach hell cause honestly he has made or not made some terrible plays...but i never wish injury on anyone, expecially one of our own dawgs....i hope he can play again (just not start) cause i know first hand what its like to have an injury end your sports career and it truly sucks...takes a long time to get over....i hope he gets some good news and he is ok and can play again...

I hate to see this type of thing happen. Sometimes I criticize Zach Smith but I love every Bulldog. Wish him the best. Go #42.

Zach Smith, as big of plays he gives up in the passing game, is one of the best blitzers we have. I wish him the best.
It's one thing to be put on the bench, it's another to not have the option of playing.

I wish some of these MSU fans would've seen him play QB they would be sick to their stomach knowing what they had:thumpsup:
man, dont tell me that.....that sucks for us, especially knowing it wouldnt take much to beat lees play. oh well, chalk up another crappy croom decision. what a dick. we are still trying to correct some of the decisions he made. as far as zach goes, he was terrible in coverage, but i also think hes not the only one. he catches alot of crap on these boards, but its well deserved crap. if teams didnt throw on us, he would be a stud, but they do and he cant cover. we do need to spread the secondary hate around a little bit. they all contributed to the loss. nesbitts first second and probably third opions could have gotten the ball tossed their way. our secondary just isnt that good.

yeah ive seen a few highlights of him...if he was younger, mullen would probably think about moving him cause he is def athletic enough to run our system but i dont really like talking about coulda, shoulda, woulda's....hope he is ok though...

That's rough and I feel for the guy. Whoever decided to move him to safety is a dumbass. I think he could have been a decent OLB if he bulked up some. But his coverage skills are horrible

Zach Smith is a solid player. Obviously our secondary hasn't performed up to SEC standards this year but he isn't solely to blame. Our corners haven't actually covered anyone all year, just leaving the safeties to defend multiple WRs regularly.
Smith is a very good ST player and I agree that he could be a solid OLB. It sucks that he got injured.. hopefully it is not serious and he'll be able to return in the coming weeks.. but I'm sure everyone understands the ramifications of concussions and if they aren't responded to correctly.

I hate it for him, but Zack Smith has easily cost us 5 TD's this year on his own. I wasn't aware he got a concussion at any point in the season or I guess the GT game. I can't see how our secondary will suffer from his loss, not to be a negative nancy.

I kinda wish we would try him at OLB also, but I hope he can play again. You never like to see a season ending injury to any player.
