Yesterday LSU picked up a commitment from 3* linebacker Tahj Jones (6'2", 190, 4.5) from Sulphur and received word that highly-touted defensive back Janzen Jackson from Lake Charles (Barbe) will most likely honor his commitment to LSU. Jones is a big-time linebacker prospect and after a redshirt year and two years working with LSU strength and conditioning coach Tommy Moffitt, Jones will be a great player for Coach Miles.
Jones is commitment No. 23 for LSU.

The sole reason we went into Baton Rouge and won.  We defeated you with dreadlock power.  Miles got the idea and is now trying to counter with his own locks.

This is good news; we seriously need linebackers.

Jones isn't quite rated as highly as Sentimore is, but new Tiger defensive coordinator John Chavis made it a personal mission to get this guy because he's a prototype linebacker in a Chavis defense. Jones needs to gain 20 pounds and he's never going to be a particularly big guy as a linebacker, but he's got speed in the 4.5 range and he is hyperactive on the field as a tackler and playmaker. Jones is a guy who can cover wide receivers in the slot, at least in the short and medium range, he can pursue sideline to sideline, he's a hard hitter and he has a nose for the football.

I wish we could have gotten him but we ran out of space.

It must be awful being a Gump these days, knowing that LSU and Ole Miss are the Big Boys of the West now. :D

Looks like it could be and 1. LSU 2. Bama recruiting ranking this year let the rivalry grow and grow.
