There's some really tight races out there this season, most notably I think the NFC South and AFC East where 3 teams are vying for a playoff spot.
Teams that have already locked in their berth:
Tennessee
Pittsburgh
Arizona (only due to the fact that they play in the worst conference in the NFL)
So in the AFC, the race in the West is between 8-6 Denver and 6-8 San Diego. Broncs play Buffalo next week and San Diego travels to Tampa. Then both teams face off in what might be a de facto playoff game. If San Diego wins next week and Denver loses, the winner of their game in the final week would determine who wins the AFC West.
The AFC East.... hell, who knows? Take your pick. Jets, Patriots or Miami. It's a coin-toss. I'll take the Jets, who have a 4-1 division record. Either way, chances are that one of the runners up will get a wildcard spots anyway.
My prediction:
Pittsburgh
Tennessee
San Diego
New York Jets
Indianapolis
Baltimore
In the NFC, Cards have the West locked up and the Giants can rest easy with the East division won. In the North, while Minnesota has the lead right now, I expect upcoming games against the Falcons and the Giants to allow Chicago to take the lead, and effectively knock them out of the wildcard race as well.
The wildcard race is where it gets interesting.
That race stacks up like:
Dallas (9-5)
Tampa Bay (9-5)
Atlanta (9-5)
Philadelphia (8-5)
I don't think the Eagles have a shot, they have 2 remaining division games against Washington and Dallas, and they'd have to win both to get in. Dallas has games left against Baltimore and @Philadelphia. Both are teams trying to get into the playoffs. I see them losing one of those.
My prediction:
New York Giants
Arizona
Carolina
Chicago
Atlanta
Tampa Bay
Playoff picture, round 1:
AFC - 6. Chargers at 3. Jets, 5. Baltimore at 4. Colts (Pitt, Tenn on bye)
NFC - 6. Falcons at 3. Chicago, 5. Tampa Bay at 4. Arizona (NYG, CAR on bye)

Lol, my fortune teller
No, I am just obviously the biggest idiot in the world. I fixed it. I have always been horrible with names but that is just a damn shame. Must stop multitasking before I make a bigger fool out of myself.

I like how the NFC South is going to get THREE teams in. While that seems like a sure possibility, I think either Atlanta or Tampa will fall out somehow.
Your predictions are completely predicated on the Falcons winning their next two games.
Also, why would the Giants even be playing their first teamers against the Vikes? They should win that game going away because they're going to be going all-out while the G-Women are going to be resting their starters for the playoffs.
It's pretty much going to be decided this weekend with the Chargers-Bucs game and the Falcons-Vikings game for my Eagles. They're going to need one of those teams to lose, hopefully the Falcons, and beat the Redskins to climb back into it.
I wouldn't start counting the Iggles out though, Andy Reid always gets them humming around this time of year. See: Jeff Garcia resurrecting a 5-6 team by winning 5 straight to get into the playoffs. The Redskins are imploding and the Cowboys game is going to be in freezing weather at the Linc in front of a bunch of rabid Eagles fans.
I'll take the Jets in the AFC East right now myself. They've got the defense and the offense. The Pats D is banged up and the Dolphins? Sorry, I just can't trust Chad Pennington to do shit. I just can't. It's been a great turnaround season for them, but I don't see them making the playoffs.
We'll see though, it's going to be an interesting two weeks...

Yes, but essentially that just comes down to beating Minnesota next week. If they do that, you know there is no way in hell they are going to lose their last game against St. Louis with a playoff on the line.

Maybe, but I'm not so sure. I'm not so sure that the Vikings are good enough to beat the Giants even with their starters taking it easy.

I would just like to point out to all you hataz that Dallas lost tonight and as of right now, Tampa Bay and Atlanta are the Wild Card leaders, thus, if they both win the next 2, THREE NFC South teams will represent in the playoffs :p

I wouldn't be worried about the Cowboys losing if I were you. I'd be more worried about whether my team can beat the Minnesota Vikings tomorrow.
But I do love watching the Cowboys playoff hopes crash and burn. Super Bowl? LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!

Falcons secondary > Taverris Jackson. There's a reason that fool was benched in favor of old man Frerotte.
I'm actually hoping for a Bucs loss tomorrow, because if they lose, and we win, we clinch a playoff spot.

We'll see, it's certainly going to be an interesting game. I'll be cheering like hell for the Vikes tomorrow.
Congrats Panthers fans. Your team is in thanks to Tony Romo being an overpaid and underperforming doofus.
