I'm thankful this Thanksgiving for my uncle or more so Proud and Patriotic. He found out today he is being promoted and won't have to wear oak leafs anymore. He's now a Full Bird Colonel.

He just left after I think a year and half being with General Petraeus in planning and is now finishing up the U.S. War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.

Plus, he is a kick butt trainer in Gracie Jujitsu.

I was proud thought I would share.

both my grandpops, all of my uncles (five of them) and my pops all served and served during WWI, II, Korea and Vietnam so i thank god for them and wish I could spend just one more thanksgiving w/any of 'em if not all of them just to tell them that

I got sentimental and pulled out the program from the Change of Command Ceremony when he became a Battalion Commander 3 years ago at Fort Hard Knox. Makes you feel like a P.O.S. when you compare resumes. Joined at 17 and busted his arse.

Trust me, with him there...... I feel comfortable.
