I was expecting some shack or something, but with a little work that's an absolute steal (well how could it not be).

Keep your eyes open for bargains my friends. I know these 1 or so dollar deals happen quite a bit, but this one was actually LISTED for a buck and stood on the market for 19 days. I mean it must suck balls to be in Real Estate in Detroit

The east side of Detroit looks like a friggin' war zone though. You'd never get your $1 back out of it! LOL Seriously, I had a customer who's about smack in the middle of that area and it was nerve wracking just driving through the neighborhoods to reach the plant. If I had a buck for every time I wondered, "How do people live like this..??" on that one trip, I could buy a thousand of those $1 homes! Sad thing is, quite a bit of Detroit is like that. And Flint, MI is even worse. You see places like Lebanon on TV or scenes from Iraq where fighting's been heavy and then go to Flint.....no exaggeration, it's not a whole lot different looking.

Let me get this straight. We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and will be fined for if we don't, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn't read it but exempts itself from it, signed by a president who smokes, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese and financed by a country that's broke.

What could possibly go wrong?

I haven't been to Michigan in about 10 years now (and I was relatively young), but Flint was really nice (at least where my aunt stayed). Detroit is crap though, I went there for about a week and I came back to Birmingham thinking I'd developed asthma, and most of the area was trash. But still, a buck per house is pretty :eek:
