Well this article puts things in perspective for those who would still doubt Tubby's "ouster." Just look at what Gillespie has done in 2 less weeks at UK than Tubby has at Minnesota. And you wonder why we got so tired of him. Everyone else just got happy seeing us down....not for long!

I don't think those points say anything about Tubby vs. Gillispie. They say something about kids wanting to play at UK more than UM. If Tubby was still at UK, he would have landed those same guys, too. In fact, he practically had Lucas and Patterson sewn up. Now, after the coaching change, both of those guys are leaning to UF. Tywanna Patterson lambasted UK for what they did to Tubby; and PP and JL have waited until the coaching carousel was stopped to commit. UF wasn't even in the running for JL until Tubby left. If the situations were reversed, and Gillispie was at Minnesota, he wouldn't be getting those kind of players, either. It's even harder to recruit players to UM than ATM.

I really love how fans from the other teams try and act like they know the true facts behind another school's business. I certainly don't know what goes on at UF and how they or their coaches conduct their business and won't go out on a limb on that. Tubby had lost his passion coaching at UK 3-4 yrs. ago and he has almost admitted as much.

Don't kid yourself...............Tubby was on a big downhill slide at UK......he didn't go out and recruit the kids himself....Reggie Hanson did most of the recruiting with Tubby making the proverbial phone call to the recruit.....you better do a bit more of your investigating homework on the former UK coaches' recruiting habits or lack thereof........most high level big man recruits aside from PP said they NEVER heard anything from UK, that son is unacceptable. You go after all of them and then take the ones that want to come and play at your school.

Well, I certainly wouldn't say I know who was responsible for landing the recruits at UK; but I don't have to, to read what the prospects themselves have said concerning the Tubby situation. I believe you when you say Tubby wasn't putting forth the effort at UK. My point was that the points in the article aren't necessarily valid. Recruits picking UK has less to do with Gillispie/Tubby than it just being about UM/UK. Those guys are choosing the better program. If Gillispie was trying to get them to come to Minnesota, and Tubby was trying to get them to come to UK, they'd still be going to UK. Gillispie wouldn't be able to lure Legion to Minnesota, either.

Geez....where to start, where to start. First of all, Tubby would not have had those players sewn up. I guess he had them sewn up like Tyler Hansbrough and Brandon Wright, or like he made a great call passing on Corey Brewer and Chris Lofton. Tubby's recruiting history sucks. But I guess it's hard to recruit to Minnesota because it's cold right, and Florida is all nice and sunny by the beach? So he can hide behind that excuse. Man, someone should've told Connecticut, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Gonzaga, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio State, etc. Man....that cold weather just doesn't work for basketball (oh wait...the game was invented in Massachussetts.)

Anyway, not meaning to be sarcastic GatorU (I get fired up about UK hoops) but the point is that yes, if there is success, they will come, no matter what the destination.

Whoopdee do, last time I checked, she doesn't have an offer on the table to wear blue and white, and Patrick's last name isn't Mustain.

Yeah, I'll agree Tubby couldn't have done much worse where recruiting is concerned. I've never seen one man lose so many players that turned out to be stars for the teams they eventually played for. It doesn't take as much effort to get them to come to UK, but you have to at least keep showing your interested. He better pick it up at UM, because it'll be tough enough to get them there, regardless of effort.

Oh so true. He offered Patterson and Lucas scholys there, and Lucas said he'd consider it (but clearly isn't) and Patterson said no way. Draymond Green, a 2008 prospect for the Cats, got the same thing and said thanks but no thanks. Anyway, just wanted to quickly point out something else about Jai....Taurean is the only Gator who hasn't signed w/an agent correct? He's also the least likely not to get drafted. In all likelihood he'll be back next season at Florida....leaving Lucas w/not much PT. That will factor into his decision. Anyway, I think this drama will hopefully be over by Derby Day, but I'm not crossing my fingers.
