Does this mean Posted Image calls a vanilla game versus the Neers?

I think we will pound the box.  They run a 3-3-5 with lightweight personnel and I don't think they can stop our running game.  I expect a low scoring game, 34-17 or so.  Their plan I think is to use a bend but don't break defense to slow our offense and for them to outscore us on one of the final plays of the game.

Sims will roll out of the pocket on a lot of his passing attempts I think and we will run the ball behind a 6-7 man front a lot.  Heavy doses of Fowler.

31-7....an ugly 31-7. We probably throw a couple of picks early.

We'll see a lot of both, this is an audition stage, we just need to feel out the opponent and see if we can afford to let them do the dance.

It will be interesting to see how Sims does throwing the ball, I wouldn't be surprised if they eventually asked him to throw some intermediate type of throws, putting him to the test early on.

Basically a McElwain-style offense. High-percentage throws, rolling out, utilizing the TEs/H-backs the way we did Brad Smelley, Colin Peek, others...don't see as many dropback downfield verticals for the first game.

I certainly hope not! There is little more frightening or potentially deadly! :o

I've heard Coker isn't very good under pressure before so this doesn't surprise me

'Bama's gon' Bama.

Hoping Sims grabs the chance by the scruff of its neck, and puts the 'QB question' to bed (to mix metaphors horribly).

Plain and simple. Sims will have to play himself out of the picture. Saban has no choice but to let it play out on the field. Risks losing half the team if he doesn't.

Writings on the wall, Sims won't be starter for long and if he is that means Coker has some serious limitations

Sims was serviceable but can't hit the broad side of a barn beyond 15 yards.....I'll give him a break on misdirecting some protections, that will come with more reps

Next two weeks will decide the QB race. I wasn't blown away by Sims, but I also think people get carried away when it comes to Coker. We have nothing to go by that says he'll definitely be better.

Good news is we've got two easier games and I'm sure there will be a lot of experimentation at the QB position. Probably close to 50-50 in snaps. I expect Sims to start both games but for us to rotate every few series. We simply didn't do it vs West Va because of the tight game situation.

I hate two QB systems, even if just for a short period of time. Back in 04 when Ainge and Schaeffer were splitting snaps it pissed me off. Luckily after Ainge lead the come back win over Florida and was the QB for pretty much the entire game for us snapping Georgia's 19 game home win streak or whatever it was at the time, it pretty much became his offense short of a few gimmicky plays with Schaeffer.

One does not simply throw towards Cameron Sutton.

I detest a 2 QB system, too. It is disruptive to the flow of the team when they are trying to get things in sync. Just never a good idea, imo.
