Okay, so it sounds like 2 weeks or so of deliveries had been made as well as payments to the distributor for the shipments, then before the distributor paid the farmer, they filed bankruptcy.

That's totally messed up

Glad you didn't get caught up in this qit, sounds like a risky way to do business.Farming's a gamble anyway so I don't see a need to press ones luck any further.

I was offered in last feb or March. I told them I didn't feel comfortable booking anymore than I had already with Bunge and farmers grain. Truth is I looked around the room and tried to find somebody I could trust with my daughter and couldn't so I walked away.

This same thing is what put me out of the industrial supply business and closed the doors on a place my grandfather started in 1977. These big companies are crooks and work the system bending every angle they can to get something for nothing. Most of them run on a 30-60 day grace period I guess you could say on paying invoices. Sometimes they would wait 28 days and contact us saying they didn't receive PO# or some bs... then its another 30days.

What got me was a contract with a company called Toray they filed sticking me for a little over 800k. Now they're still running under the same name doing the same thing. Good you didn't get caught up bbqit.

I can't say the farmers or the chicken company did wrong. Just the middle man.
