Who gets your top-five phone calls?

I think the question would be,will anyone answer.

Coaches make enough money these days that it's harder to lure them away.Unless they are an assistant coach.

Honestly no because I respect what Mullen has done here ,but if he did leave and we signed Hud, I would not be as upset as you might think. Hud has roots at state and is a standup coach as well.

Ellis Johnson would be a great fit at Florida. Solid head coach.

Judging from the reports coming out of camp, doesn't sound like there's much point speculating on this one.

Obviously it's still pretty much regarded as a consensus Top 5 job, so attracting somebody wouldn't be much of a problem; I'd like to see how this season shakes out and how some of the up 'n coming coaching talent looks where they're at now before I made a list... although I'm sure Foley already has a shortlist in the event we lose a dozen or so starters in the next 11 days.

I am honestly not sure Mullen would go to Gainesville even if they offered. He had his shot in 2010 if I remember correctly. UF will always have more money, more fans, and more power than MSU will. But I honestly think Mullen likes it here as hard as that is for some to believe.

Mullen never had a shot to be UF's HC. Meyer was still coaching in 2010, and Muschamp was the first and only guy offered the job in December of that year.

Maybe Dan would go then. I dunno. I meant he had a shot to coach the 2011 season at UF after Meyer retired again. For real this time. For a while anyway. But, maybe you're right. Maybe he never a shot at all.

Oh, I'm not saying he never had or could have a shot to coach at UF; I think he's very respected by Foley and the influential folks at UF.

Foley just had Muschamp in his sights from Day 1; interviewed and offered him the job; and he took it... there never was much of a search.

I think if we had to go looking, Mullen would definitely be on the list of guys to gauge his interest.
