It seems to me that the job is Sims to lose. He's a 5th year senior so he obviously has better chemistry with the team and he's now playing with instinct instead of react/thinking through (ie the game has finally started to slow down).

From what I understand, Coker is head and shoulders better talent wise, but he is hesitant with his decision making at times. I think they'll both play the first couple of games, similar to how Saban played McCarron and Phillip Sims both the first few games of 2011 until McCarron won the job.

I get the feeling that Sims starts game 1, and Coker will get an opportunity to get his feet wet. It will have to be a clear cut difference for Coker to take over. Jmo, but either way it'll be nice to have a mobile qb for a change.

Okay, let's try to stay on topic. Are you backing Sims, or do you hope Coker takes the job ASAP?
OK, I'll play...

I hope both perform well, and that Sims in particular excels in the HUNH package that Kiffin has created for him, to such an extent that each Friday before a Bama game, the opposing DC is discovered in the closet of his hotel room, curled up sucking his thumb and cradling an empty bottle of cheap whiskey, murmuring how his life would have been much less embarrassing had he just gone into sex trafficking like his parents.

From all reports,  surprisingly good. We'll see when the heat is on. True freshman punter has impressed in practice and Griffith has been very solid.

Word is that Griffin has been consistently making FGs out to 48 yards. JK Scott has been averaging ~45 yards on punts.

How well that translates to the field remains to be seen, but there's reason to be, as ever, cautiously optimistic.

I watched Grif hit a 58 yarder in the state playoffs to win a game. Power is not an issue with him.
