I feel like we swapped roles when crxxm came in until rich left uk. After brooks left and mullen came in msu became the better team and uk hit dumpster fire status.

I like the trophy idea......but I too think this is a little too soon.  Make it a rivalry first then talk trophy.  We'll see I guess.
I don`t mind it, even this early in the series. But i think we should play the first game of every season against each other. I don`t like the thought of having a trophy game during the 4th or 8th game of the season.

Referring to historical status. That's why we got matched up, hence my statement. UK, OM, MSU, and Vandy. UK-State are redneck ag schools, OM - Vandy elitist dbag schools.

South Carolina is the oddball as far as a true West rival goes.  I've always felt like Kentucky should be playing Arkansas permanently.  Lot more animosity between the Cats and the Hogs than there is between us and State or Carolina and Arkansas. But with Mizzou in the conference now,Arkansas makes too much sense for that to happen.
I have said the same thing. However, it's going to take more than the border to make a rivalry. Few rivalries are automatic like that. I'd rather have Kentucky at this point. imagine if the SEC added North Carolina and West Virginia, would West Virginia make more sense for y'all for being your "rival"? I'm aware y'all would be in the same division but humor me.

And that would seemingly make it more convenient for both teams as far as scheduling is concerned. Flying halfway across the country for a conference game is rough, but if it's the first game and on a Thurs. the kids can be back on schedule by the time the rest of the teams have played their first game.

It helps for recruiting though. I know SC has put a large emphasis on the ATL area recently which has greatly contributed to us having a lot more GA kids in the roster, but beating UGA has helped too.

No...for us UNC would be our biggest rival immediately. They'd surpass Tennessee and probably Louisville as well.

louisville?? Hopefully you're just exaggerating. I know UK fans hate unc even more than SC fans(probably way more)...but I can't imagine it passing an instate rivalry. Instate rivalries are the best.

There is zero love lost between Kentucky and North Carolina. Would absolutely love the chance to beat their ass multiple times a year.

The trophy could be a big old golden slab of salt meat.

Our trophy with Mizzou could be a big old golden rock of crystal meth.

Or we could have the STAY OFF MY DAM LAWN trophy to apply to everybody.
