This again? Dude, it's July; NSD is in February. 7 months for players to change their minds several times over. Are you still not aware that teams have a different number of committed players, and that accounts for the difference... by NSD most teams will have similar numbers and the current rankings won't look the same.

And players will decommit and go elsewhere, and their grades will go up and down throughout their senior seasons.

UF only has 10 players, UT has twice as many and their class is almost full with dozens of the top players yet to take visits and commit.

At this point, when teams have a huge disparity in the numbers of players committed, the only way to grade classes accurately is by player average grade; and I just told you what yours was... 10th in the SEC.

If you're not satisfied with that grade, use Scout; they have UT 9th in the SEC. http://florida.scout...&view=2&yr=2015

Alabama 19 SEC 3.95
Texas A&M 18 SEC 3.78
Auburn 17 SEC 3.71
LSU 13 SEC 3.54
Georgia 13 SEC 3.54
Arkansas 10 SEC 3.40
Florida 10 SEC 3.40
Missouri 9 SEC 3.33
Tennessee 20 SEC 3.25
South Carolina 21 SEC 3.24
Mississippi 9 SEC 3.22
Kentucky 12 SEC 3.17
Vanderbilt 8 SEC 3.13
Mississippi State 18 SEC 3.11

Or Rivals, who has you tied for 10th with us... only difference is y'all are about done, and we are far from finished, with have our annual camp where we load up on top players coming up next weekend.  https://rivals.yahoo...nk/2015/SEC/all

Alabama 19 3.89
Auburn 17 3.71
Georgia 13 3.54
Texas A&M 18 3.44
South Carolina 21 3.43
Arkansas 10 3.4
LSU 13 3.38
Kentucky 12 3.33
Florida 10 3.3
Tennessee 20 3.3
Missouri 9 3.22
Mississippi 9 3.11
Mississippi State 18 3.06
Vanderbilt 8 3.0

Any way you slice it, you have the SEC's 9th or 10th best players with little chance to move up.

Its like you don't understand tha we are taking a punter(#1 in the nation) and long snapper that don't get rated by the services. Without those 2 (and one will be asked to grey shirt) the average goes to 3.6 3-4 ranking.

As to moving up? We lead for 5* Tuttle and are in the top 3 for a couple other 5-4* guys with a while before signing day. If we sign 25 and greyshirt 1 that drops 1 lower number while adding high numbers. I hope simple math isn't too far above your head

And beyond the star rating, this class only has 1 JUCO guy in it. We are at a point where we can actually start building and develop guys that will be both talented and here more than 2 years. This really increases the margin for error when you can bring guys in knowing you can redshirt a bunch of them to develop the skill set and teach them the system. Something this Mexican fruit basket turn over in staff hasn't allowed us to do in 10 years.

So what. Plenty of teams will be taking kickers and punters, and their averages will be affected the same way.

The fact is most of the other SEC teams with similar averages only have 9-13 players committed. Since most of the services count a team's top 20 players, that means UT has 20 getting counted while those other SEC teams don't even have 20 to count.

After taking that huge class last year, UT can't take another huge class this year, so they probably don't move much the rest of the year; while those other teams still have 12-15 players to select and most of them will be of the high 4* and 5* variety.

As for my math, it's right, as always; whereas every time you choose to use numbers it becomes crystal clear that your grade school teachers passed you simply so they could get you out of their hair... much like your English and history teachers.

Let's see, UT's average player ranking is...

In the SEC, that only puts them behind Bama (93.92), TAMU (90.71), AU (90.04), UF (89.79), UGA (89.76), LSU (89.64), USC (88.46), UAr (88.45), and OM (87.69)... not bad.

It's going to be hilarious to watch Tennessee sh** the bed again this year.
More than usual because they all have convinced themselves that their 7th choice the third time around is the second coming.

The class will be 23-25 with 1-2 defections/recruited over/greyshirted.

Bama has 19, TAMU 18, Aub 17, SC 21, MSU 18,

LSUand UGA are the only top recruiting SEC schools under 17 not named Florida.

Both Miami and FSU have hirer ranked classes than Florida and FSU only has 12 commits. If Florida struggles this year Mushchamp is going to be Posted Imagecanned and the recruits are not going to come. Maybe its time to come to terms with that.

More than usual because they all have convinced themselves that a guy that that played for UGA because Florida wouldn't give him a scholly and was run out of Texas because they were terrified of him as a coach in waiting was the answer in jortzville

I'm not even agitated. I simply wrote a factual observation about a topic; just because it made the original post look silly doesn't mean that was the intent.

As is your custom, you respond to factual replies that disprove your claims with personal assaults; and those assaults get responded to... can't just sit in a team forum and take your shots, lame, juvenile, and repetitive as they are, with impunity.

Frankly, you should be accustomed to that by now, regardless of topic; any marginally educated member makes your contributions look silly with a modicum of effort and homework.

So tattle and get me banned from it.
Wouldn't be the first time.

Everything you say about recruiting is one major IF.
That's why no one cares that UT is recruiting well and that UF is recruiting below their norm.

To be fair our first choice the first time was the biggest disaster, so maybe our ADs judgement is just bad enough that the last guy they called is actually competent.  I can dream at least.

The good ole George Costanza "do the opposite" approach. Will be hilarious if it works.

I believe Butch is doing a great job, and is pulling in kids that want to be at UT.

Actually, this is pretty routine for Florida; we start adding the high-end players at Friday Night Lights, add a couple more usually at the UA and Army All-Star games, and save a few schollies for the elite 5* guys who will take all their visits and announce on NSD.

We have 10 guys. Last year at this time, coming off an 11-2 season, we had 7 players committed. The year before that, at this time of year, we had 11. So, it's going the way it always has under Muschamp.

In fact, every year we have guys try to commit early, but Muschamp literally tells some kids to take their visits and then come back and commit, because he wants to make sure they want to be at UF.

Sometimes that makes fans lose their minds; but doing it that way has cut down on decommitments and tons of anxiety about whether or not a guy is going to stick. You lose guys really late in the recruiting season or on NSD, it's too late to recruit somebody to replace him.

So far Butch has had the opposite problem. He has managed to have to turn kids away at the end. Fingers crossed it stays that way.
