The #1 punter is a 2 star? Wow kickers in america must suck.

It is damn near impossible to try to project a kickers potential. 90 percent of a kickers game is mental. So the services will not waste their time.

UF has 0 (zero) 5* and only 4 4* commits in there non top 20 class per 247.

Both of UTs 5*s are per 247.

This again? Dude, it's July; NSD is in February. 7 months for players to change their minds several times over. Are you still not aware that teams have a different number of committed players, and that accounts for the difference... by NSD most teams will have similar numbers and the current rankings won't look the same.

And players will decommit and go elsewhere, and their grades will go up and down throughout their senior seasons.

UF only has 10 players, UT has twice as many and their class is almost full with dozens of the top players yet to take visits and commit.

At this point, when teams have a huge disparity in the numbers of players committed, the only way to grade classes accurately is by player average grade; and I just told you what yours was... 10th in the SEC.

If you're not satisfied with that grade, use Scout; they have UT 9th in the SEC. http://florida.scout...&view=2&yr=2015

Alabama 19 SEC 3.95
Texas A&M 18 SEC 3.78
Auburn 17 SEC 3.71
LSU 13 SEC 3.54
Georgia 13 SEC 3.54
Arkansas 10 SEC 3.40
Florida 10 SEC 3.40
Missouri 9 SEC 3.33
Tennessee 20 SEC 3.25
South Carolina 21 SEC 3.24
Mississippi 9 SEC 3.22
Kentucky 12 SEC 3.17
Vanderbilt 8 SEC 3.13
Mississippi State 18 SEC 3.11

Or Rivals, who has you tied for 10th with us... only difference is y'all are about done, and we are far from finished, with have our annual camp where we load up on top players coming up next weekend.  https://rivals.yahoo...nk/2015/SEC/all

Alabama 19 3.89
Auburn 17 3.71
Georgia 13 3.54
Texas A&M 18 3.44
South Carolina 21 3.43
Arkansas 10 3.4
LSU 13 3.38
Kentucky 12 3.33
Florida 10 3.3
Tennessee 20 3.3
Missouri 9 3.22
Mississippi 9 3.11
Mississippi State 18 3.06
Vanderbilt 8 3.0

Any way you slice it, you have the SEC's 9th or 10th best players with little chance to move up.

This is a UT board

There are separate boards for trolling or talking about how neat UF is

Nobody's trolling; just stating the facts. UF's class hasn't shaped up yet, so it's anything but "neat"... 'course, few teams' classes have; that might be 1 reason nobody else is beating their chest, we're only in the 3rd inning of the 2015 recruiting game.

Dude, I came here to remind smokey, again, how recruiting works.

How can you have a parade when NSD is still 7 months away and you have no idea who or how many of your current commits will still be there?

I like the way our class looks right now too; but I've been following recruiting pretty religiously since before there was an internet and all recruiting news was in magazines... so I'm not stupid or naive enough to start getting Recruiting National Champs T-shirts made in July.

Who the hell invited you?

Can we be excited about our recruiting class ON OUR BOARDS without your smart-assed comments about where we rank in the SEC?

This a Vol board, go run along and figure out how to pull that Seminole spear out of your ass

Invitations required for participation now? News to me.

My first comment wasn't meant to be smartass; I didn't realize until halfway through it that UT was going to end up so far down because 24/7 doesn't allow you to just click on the "average" header and get the order; you have to actually put them in order yourself in the post.

But the comment about not bad was genuine, in response to the 2 5* kids. But, by all means, continue your parade; didn't mean to piss in the punch.

In the SEC, that only puts them behind Bama (93.92), TAMU (90.71), AU (90.04), UF (89.79), UGA (89.76), LSU (89.64), USC (88.46), UAr (88.45), and OM (87.69)... not bad.

Apparently not. But I definitely made my point after the next response; although I still wasn't trolling... hell, I didn't even notice that the topic was in the Vol forum until you just pointed it out.

I still see a lot of 5* kids that are giving UT a serious look. The kids may change their mind but all the big up and comers we have on the list seem pretty firm UT and that I am aware of not many if any are scheduling any further visits.

Very true, but I have a feeling a lot of kids aren't so certain Muschamp is going to be there next year. UF usually has way more kids by now, and I think with Miami getting better and FSU winning the NC last year, that a lot of kids may not be looking Florida's way at the moment. I think a lot of UF's possible success in recruiting will be decided in the first half of the season this year.

Actually, this is pretty routine for Florida; we start adding the high-end players at Friday Night Lights, add a couple more usually at the UA and Army All-Star games, and save a few schollies for the elite 5* guys who will take all their visits and announce on NSD.

We have 10 guys. Last year at this time, coming off an 11-2 season, we had 7 players committed. The year before that, at this time of year, we had 11. So, it's going the way it always has under Muschamp.

In fact, every year we have guys try to commit early, but Muschamp literally tells some kids to take their visits and then come back and commit, because he wants to make sure they want to be at UF.

Sometimes that makes fans lose their minds; but doing it that way has cut down on decommitments and tons of anxiety about whether or not a guy is going to stick. You lose guys really late in the recruiting season or on NSD, it's too late to recruit somebody to replace him.

Very impressive.  I watched Butch on the program from Hoover yesterday and he seems to have instilled a lost chemistry and a new hunger among the team and fans.  They will be back to prominence under Butch in a couple of years.
