Was listening to the daily 'Dawg Report' on 680 The Fan this AM. Mucho whining about injuries in 2013. One would have thought UGA led the nation in that department. And then this PM, I'm checking the Phil Steele site, and whoop's there it is! But wait, where is UGA? I have to go to the full report to find them at #44.

11 missed starts on offense for us. Demetrius Wilson missed 12 by himself when he got hurt before the first game. I'm guessing he isn't counted because he never actually started a game last year.

Ouch, I knew it was bad for us, but that really puts it in perspective; 3rd worst in the country with 51 total starts lost... no wonder Steele is predicting better things for us this year.

Me too. In case you didn't notice, I was one of the five, along with yourself, that picked UF to go 9-3 this year in the Predict the Record thread.

No uga fan said we had the most missed starts, but we undoubtedly got hit hard by injuries in 2013.

Injuries are never really an excuse to me unless it's DRASTIC.

We beat Wash St and Miss St without our only good pass rusher. We had to replace our RT, our SS, our #2 WR, a starting DT, our best STAR, and three different slot corners.

Nick Marshall had a sprained knee for 5 weeks and Tre Mason had a fractured wrist the last 5 games.

Georgia was in great position to beat Clemson, Vanderbilt, Auburn and Nebraska and made cardinal sin errors to lose the games.

They're all D-1 players, go out there and execute.

Our injuries were drastic against ut, mizzou, and vandy but we made plenty of cardinal win errors all season long outside of sc and lsu games.

True but the margin for error is significantly smaller when you're missing half of your starters / 2 deep on offense - especially when your defense is a joke

@TheRealBrave You beat South Carolina and LSU with a squad much more undermanned than the one that lost to Clemson.

Hard to make that a reasonable comparison. Our team simply couldn't handle the road game vs. Clemson and Bobo had his token full retard play-calling night (along with our routinely Posted Image defense)

Gurley for a stretch and Murray at the end were the only two personnel losses worth mentioning, the rest were average players replaced by average players or had minimal impact (Mitchell might as well be an off season deal)

Keith Marshall, Justin Scott-Wesley, Michael Bennett, Chris Conley... all huge impact guys that we lost that you didn't mention. We lost our crutch when we lost those guys, it got a lot harder for our offense to carry our defense even when we still had Murray.

I think we're :lanekiffin:ed if we lose someone like Gurley this year, Hutson Mason is no Murray - he can't carry the team alone and our defense is too young and the secondary too depleted for our D to be any good
