How has the 21st century treated the SEC so far? 15 years into the 21st century, through the 2013-14 season, I thought it might be interesting to see how our conference's programs have done in their quests for National Championships and athletic superiority. There are still some 2014 titles to be won; but they will be part of the 2014-15 season.

Starting with the 2000 season, these are the titles our teams have won. In some cases the titles were won when teams were still members of another conference; but of course those teams brought their titles with them when they joined ours... they didn't have to leave them behind, they belong to the school.

Notes: Arkansas was forced to vacate 2 National Championships in Men's Outdoor Track & Field in 2004 and 2005. Florida was the runner-up both years and was supposed to be awarded the titles... a decade later they're still waiting on the NCAA, of course.

LSU was forced to vacate the 2012 Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Championship.

Not too shabby; looking forward to many more.

I'm a little disappointed in our women's bowling team.

I take it the men's bowling team meets your expectations, but just hasn't broken through for a title yet?

Dream ending this year,no doubt.A baseball title is tough to win.

Hopefully your basketball, along with the rest of us,will get back up to snuff.

LoL The bball coach needs to go, I mean if Vandy can win back to back 9 wins in football, and an NC in baseball..bball is the easiest sport, and we have done nothing besides 2012 tournament.. time to bring in someone new

Stallings has actually done a pretty amazing job for where he's coaching. 6 tourney appearances and 2 Sweet 16's isn't too shabby.

Of course injuries have taken you out of competition before you could even get going here lately.

The coach isn't y'all's problem; y'all's problem is finding 7 or 8 ultra-talented basketball players who can get into Vanderbilt, when the vast majority of those kinds of players are from places that aren't exactly conducive to learning.

Basketball is not the easiest sport, either; the number of schools with titles is small just like baseball.

There are 350 DI basketball programs, and 35 of them have won a title; that would be 10% except that 1 of the teams (CCNY) that won 1 isn't even a DI program anymore.

Noticed that too, huh? I wasn't going to say anything and see if anyone else picked up on it.

That is like winning 12 games in football and losing the NC or bowl, it means nothing to me. We need someone young like Franklin coaching that team, and I consider it the easiest sport only because im really good at it and suck at everything else.

If it's like winning 12 games but losing the NC, then he's done better than Franklin ever did in football.

I understand wanting a younger coach; but usually folks want one when their older coach has obviously lost his fire, hunger, and passion for the game... I don't think that applies to Stallings. He looks plenty animated and passionate during games.

Looks like he brought in a pretty good class this year; it'll be interesting to see how VU does with a little more depth, because y'all pulled off some pretty good upsets in the middle of the season before they just wore down at the end.
