http://www.teamspeed...erence-opponent

Last time these schools DID NOT play a MAJOR conference opponent in their nonconference slate:

Texas A&M, 2013: Rice, Sam Houston State, SMU, UTEP
Mississippi State, 2012: Jackson State, Troy, South Alabama, Middle Tennessee
Ole Miss, 2011: BYU, Southern Illinois, Fresno State, Louisiana Tech
LSU, 2008: Appalachian State, North Texas, Tulane, Troy
Arkansas, 2007: Troy, North Texas, UT-Chattanooga, FIU
Alabama, 2005: Middle Tennessee, Southern Miss, Utah State
Missouri, 2005: Arkansas State, New Mexico, Troy
Auburn 2004: UL-Monroe, The Citadel, Louisiana Tech
Tennessee, 2000: Southern Miss, UL-Monroe, Memphis
Vanderbilt, 1997: North Texas, TCU, Northern Illinois
Kentucky, 1986: Rutgers, Kent State, Cincinnati
South Carolina, 1943: Newberry, Fort Benning, Presbyterian, Charleston Coast Guard
Georgia, 1942: Jacksonville Naval Air Station, Furman, Cincinnati, UT-Chattanooga

Only one team is left if you're counting along at home: Florida. The SEC team that gets the most grief about its non-conference scheduling due to its disinclination to play non-conference series with teams other than Florida State and Miami (FL) has unambiguously not missed an opportunity to play a major team in non-conference play since the SEC itself began.

I think it's more than acceptable for a lower tier school to play weak OOC teams in order to get bowl eligible on a regular basis.
My only issue is with people whining about how UF never plays OOC out of state.

Auburn hasn't won a non-non road game since 1997.

Rutgers and Cincinnati? Not gonna apologize for that when comparing it to the other schools lists there.

I'm laughing though at all these OU fans who said they were lucky they missed him. If he was at OU he would have been kicked out because Stoops is a "better builder of men than Pinkel" and Mizzou would just slap him on the wrist. http://www.landthiev...ghlight=Beckham

I don't like to, but I understand the rationale.
Does Vandy and Kentucky no good to get murdered by anyone decent.
For us, it is about revenue. More home games mean more $.

But mostly to Florida.

Sc and Florida have to play FSU, Miami and Clemson. If it weren't for the interstate rivalry then they wouldn't be so far down the list
