From the story:

"We talked to them very seriously, but very quietly," [former UK AD C.M.] Newton said last week. "Dr. Wethington had me go over and talk to them for a short period one evening."

Among the officials he met with, Newton said, were then-ACC Commissioner Gene Corrigan and then-Duke Athletics Director Tom Butters.

"They wanted us to come on and join their league," Newton said. "I thought, with the way (UK) football was (struggling in the SEC), that might have been the best path for us. I always felt like (Florida State) was an SEC school in the ACC and Kentucky an ACC school in the SEC."

Then kick out msu and we are back to 12. Good number. Msu would make a good big 12 team and there is our yearly ooc game they are requiring.

Wow, they'd have never heard the end of that... "Go Big Yella!" just doesn't quite have the same ring to it.

CM gutted the football program to prop up everything else and give basketball everything it wanted.  Why his name is on the field is beyond me.  It would've been a bullPosted Image cowardly move. Posted Image the ACC

Hardly. Only a handful of you have any football natties or SEC titles. The rest of you may be football focused,  but you haven't done anything so I don't know what you're crowing about. No better than us on the gridiron.   As always, it doesn't hurt to have the best basketball program in the country.  Bring some hardware to the table or gtfo

It wouldn't be the SEC without Tucky, but I still hate them.

It takes a special kind of suck to go ofer in the conference twice in a row.
I'm certain the national media is relieved. They can kiss State's ass and go back to the old "Ole Miss is Waycist" narrative. Meanwhile I hope Gameday has fun in Morgantown. Look out for burning couches!
