The fact that Matthews won’t get a chance to play until 2015 might help him get his act together. Then we’ll see how serious he takes this opportunity.

Malzahn is pretty handy with that line.  Didn't help too much with Mike Dyer though.  He goes after the best players no matter the issues with them.  It's ballsy so he deserves some credit but his reputation is very much on the line with every one that he takes in.

Little bit different Davey when a player is given a second chance from the team he was released from and a player that was kicked off another team in March and was picked up by you guys in June. The ink wasn't even dry on the warrant.
"Whenever I see those crimson jerseys and crimson helmets, I feel humbled to have played football for Alabama. Other players in the NFL talk to me about their schools and their traditions. I just smile knowing the immense love Alabama fans have for our school and its football program. I'm proud to be a part of that Crimson Tide heritage."

Thanks Huck!

Pettway was charged with second-degree robbery. He won his appeal to be charged as a youthful offender, sealing his record at 20 years old. I have seen kids at 15 years old prosecuted as adults.

Even someone with limited capabilities should be able to see that there is little difference between going JUCO for a year and having to sit out a year before becoming eligible again. Follow me here. Both had to change schools. Both were still on scholarship at those schools. One had to behave at his next school before being allowed to play again in the SEC. The other will have to also.  What is strange to me. Yours signed with the same school he was expelled from.

Won't that be a nice lawsuit if he robs another student or assaults another student with UA knowing about his past. If I were the parent of the kid that happen to get robbed or assaulted by Mr. Youthful Offender. The stadium would soon be called Bryant -Davie and you would never get a ticket.

To help you with your short term memory loss: Here is one of the other players dismissed with Pettway.
This was Calloway's second arrest since he signed with Alabama in 2011. The former Russellville standout was charged with second-degree possession of marijuana in Oct. 2011.

nice try....read REAL SLOW Gomer.....I never said he didnt do anything wrong. I SAID HE WAS ON OUR TEAM AND GIVEN A SECOND CHANCE. You picked Mathews up months after his arrest. GO BACK AND READ THIS SENTENCE AGAIN. There will be a test later.

Doesn't take a high IQ to sell real estate I assume ??

My mistake, I meant to say transfer. At the same time, Gator Hater makes a valid point!
