Get it close to the pin.

First of all, the bowl games are still being put into place, much less the matchups, so the whole goal behind this is to give some idea of what the post-season landscape will probably look like. We’ll do this again in more detail just before the season, and, as always, we’ll do our bowl projections throughout the year.

Things are far, far different this time around with no more BCS and with College Football Playoff the big determining factor that’ll decide everything else. The Rose and Sugar will be the first round of the playoff, and the Fiesta, Orange, Cotton and Peach will become the really big, super-colossal megabowls that you’re supposed to care about, even though they really don’t mean anything more than a big matchup.

The ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12 and SEC conference champions will all get a spot in one of the big new bowls, if they’re not in College Football Playoff, and the highest-ranked team by the new Gang of 13 playoff committee between the American Athletic, Conference USA, MAC, Mountain West and Sun Belt will get in. That means there will be six at-large spots available based on the committee’s rankings.

The other main thing to note is the generally loose nature of the tie-ins now. The conferences will have more say than ever when it comes to geographic location, best matchup and more to make it all work out.

So here’s the first look at what your 2014-2015 bowl season might be. It's June. What else are you going to do, watch baseball?

I don't see how they think Aubun will just drop off, they would be in the top 4 mix just as well as any East team.

Hey I'm not bitching I'll take any bowl in 2014-15, but a rematch with TT?

May the bridges I burn light the way.

Maybe they think playing LSU, Bama, UGA, and USC others is too tough.  Plus they lost both the SEC top RB and top oline.

Well, they'll still be solid, SEC schedule or not. To suggest their OL will see any sort of drop off is blasphemous to most Auburn fans as well.

Blasphemous or not you don't lose the top OL and have a better line.

MSU will do much better than Birmingham, and Arkansas won't play TT twice, imo.

I haven't seen any Auburn fans stating the O-Line this year will be better then last year. I will say that the amount of drop-off will be less then most around here think. Left tackle will be covered by either a former starter at right tackle Miller or Coleman. The left starting left guard from last year will be a soph. this year after being named All-SEC Freshmen team and a couple of All-American freshman teams.

But I am guessing the QB situation will be better this year for the GameCocks.

No our QB situation will not be better.  But our oline and RBs are better.  Combine that with the fact that Thompson is more of a passer than a runner I do expect he will have more yards, TD, and interceptions than Shaw.

Maybe they don't expect the string of regular season game miracles to continue for Auburn??
