The more I deal with and get to know these folks the more I get the commonality they share with the occupy and 99%ers. They are both :lanekiffin:ed up in the head.

They declare themselves sovereign states and only obey unwritten oral tradition common law that no one can explain. So, no form of ID which means no car insurance, they don't send their kids to any kind of formal education, they don't recognize any form of law at any level because they did not agree to them (reasoning is they are sovereign states and have to treaty agreements with local/state/federal governments, when arrested and brought before a judge they identify themselves as "the sovereign state of (insert name) and I do not recognize the power of this court to compel me to do anything") they pay no taxes (I assume they pay sales tax). When you ask why they do it they start talking about where the obligation to follow laws comes from and how we would not be subject to the legal restrictions of others and how we all are fools and slaves to the social contract.

I don't get it. I mean sure things have gone too far towards a totalitarian regime and there is no trust of government but to force your kids to be uneducated because of your politics is crossing the line. Do what you as a consenting adult what but give your kids a chance. If you don't want them in public school (and my child will not be in public school, she will attend a catholic school til middle school then go to a private school) go the private school route or get in one of the better homeschooling programs.

Nuts.

They're an outlier of society, hardly with worrying about. You probably wouldn't see them multiply in numbers if our government didn't suck so much bhole on a routine basis

Since they aren't subject to our laws, then they are not protected by them either.
Perhaps there could be an open season on the little smart Alec's.

The Libertarian Party believes in minimal government, but sovereign citizens are morons that believe in no government (despite choosing to remain in the country).

Sovereign citizens share a few views with the Libertarian Party, but they're not libertarians. They're idiots.

They seem to be universal supporters of Ron Paul and self identify as libertarians, at least the ones I dealt with are.
