Malzahn and the HUNH stuff is proving a disruptive force. Oregon, OM, Mizzou, all these spread teams making up for the lack of talent (or exploiting it) by spreading people out and taking advantage of weak defenses in college football. Basically the formula is put all the best athletes on offense, spread them out, and outscore the opponent. There is no doubt in my mind that Arkansas would've been in the top half of the SEC if they had hired Malzahn.
And knowing this makes me not really want to watch college football.
I mean, there is a guy coaching in HS in Little Rock who never punts and always goes for onside kicks. He knows that high school teams are not that solid on defense. Some may find that entertaining, to me it's like watching little kids shoot free throws at halftime to help score some points.
Somebody needs to have the balls to put the best athletes on defense (looking at you, LSU) and stop this madness. Or am I just getting old?
tldr rant over.
