Just got back from seeing it--absolutely fantastic!  Lot's of nods to the Toho movies, and an epic sense of scale.  Could done without the soldier and his wife subplot, but you almost have to have those in this sort of movie.

talked to a young fella yesterday who said his 4 year old son loves old Godzilla movies.Would this movie be fit for a kid that age?

Not even a little bit. I have a 4 year old and he would have nightmares for a month.

Ken Watanabe - walk into every seen with a befuddling look on your face, 1000 yard stare with mouth partly open, say three words, and then wander off.

It's so weird that you made this thread because I watched it the other day and thought the monster fight scenes were badass but the overall film is just too slow and dull. this felt more like Cloverfield Meets Jaws . with us hardly seeing much of Godzilla or the other monster till about halfway through the movie . I know they're just trying to introduce him to a new audience but this is the 2000's the majority of the world should already know who Godzilla is

Have heard a lot of bad reviews for it. I didn't even like the 98 remake much, so I don't expect to be watching this one any time soon.

I dont agree at all. "Whenever I see those crimson jerseys and crimson helmets, I feel humbled to have played football for Alabama. Other players in the NFL talk to me about their schools and their traditions. I just smile knowing the immense love Alabama fans have for our school and its football program. I'm proud to be a part of that Crimson Tide heritage."
