the monster fight scenes were badass but the overall film is just too slow and dull. this felt more like Cloverfield Meets Jaws . with us hardly seeing much of Godzilla or the other monster till about halfway through the movie . I know they're just trying to introduce him to a new audience but this is the 2000's the majority of the world should already know who Godzilla is

It's so weird that you made this thread because I watched it the other day and thought the monster fight scenes were badass but the overall film is just too slow and dull. this felt more like Cloverfield Meets Jaws . with us hardly seeing much of Godzilla or the other monster till about halfway through the movie . I know they're just trying to introduce him to a new audience but this is the 2000's the majority of the world should already know who Godzilla is

Have heard a lot of bad reviews for it. I didn't even like the 98 remake much, so I don't expect to be watching this one any time soon.

I saw it and got exactly what I expected; special FX eye candy.  The story-line wasn't too bad but the casting was awful unless you're in love with the Olsen twins.  They killed off the good actors too early and left you with characters you didn't care about.  The movie industry is pretty sad when you've come to celebrating a movie because it doesn't try to shock the senses with profanity or porn.  I give it a 3 out of 5.  Almost everything out of Hollyweird is crap anymore.

I still don't get how anyone can walk into a movie theater anymore and expect to get close to their money's worth out of the rehashed Posted Image films they're putting out.
