I'm absolutely for this, with the playoff system finally here a championship game is only a huge hurdle coming out of the SEC. It just doesn't prove what it used to anymore.

Let the best record and by some other tie breakers determine is who is the conference champion.

we are not talking about eliminating the championship game

we are talking about eliminating DIVISIONS

let every team pick 3 or 4 perm opponents, rotate the rest of the league and have the best 2 teams 9or highest BCS ranked teams) play for the championship

UGA gets to keep UF & AU

Bama gets to keep AU & Tenn

LSU does not have to look like a bunch of whiney little girls anymore

we get to see every team in a 4 year span

everybody wins!

Look what eliminating divisions did for regular season basketball.

Then no, I don't care to eliminate just divisions. Or to read some article apparently.

This would be kinda cool. Playing the same division gets a little repetitive. Would love to play Georgia, USC, etc. frequently.

I'd be for this if LSU didn't schedule Kentucky, Vandy, Mississippi State, and Arkanlawls every season.

the SEC is not showing itself to be capable of leading

We jumped to 14 teams in a reaction to other conferences expanding

We discussed and voted on a 9 game conference schedule in reaction to other conferences doing so - we made the WRONG decision, that will change if we start seeing strength of schedule hurting us in the new playoff system

Playing every team more often would be better for everyone. having the best 2 teams face off for a championship would be better

The playoff will expand from 4 teams - how long that takes no one knows, but it will happen

WHEN it does happen, we will be hard pressed to get 2 teams in with an 8 game conference slate

the acc is paranoid they won't have a team in the 4 team playoff so they are making their team look as strong as possible. the sec is considering getting 2 teams in the playoff so it would not help them to do what the acc did. big 10 big 12 pac 12 sec acc at least one won't have a team in it and that is what worries acc.

Last year it would have been the Big 12 without a team in for 100% sure

had the BSC 1 - 4 been used, the PAC 12 would have sat home too.

What we PROBABLY would have seen would have been bama getting the shaft and this:

FSU vs Stanford

Auburn vs Mich State

The Playoffs WILL go to 8 teams

We will probably see auto Qualifiers for the 5 major champions and 3 at large teams with independents 9like ND or even Boise State) with an auto berth if they are in the top 8

That leaves 2 or 3 other shots for a 2nd school from any conference

I don't care if they keep a CG or not, but I want to keep our current "big" rivals AND see all the other SEC teams at least once every 4 years

Imagine this:

Permanent Opponents:

Alabama: Tenn ~ AU ~ MS St ~ LSU

Auburn: Bama ~ UGA ~ UF ~ MS St

Arkansas: LSU ~ Mizou ~ aTm ~ KY

Florida: UGA ~ AU ~ Tenn ~ SC

Georgia: UF ~ AU ~ SC ~ Vandy

Kentucky: Tenn ~ Vandy ~ Mizzou ~ Arky

Louisiana State: aTm ~ Arky ~ Ole Miss ~ Bama

Mississippi: LSU ~ MS St ~ Vandy ~ SC

Mississippi State: Ole Miss ~ Bama ~ AU ~ aTm

Missouri: Arky ~ KY ~ aTm ~ SC

South Carolina: UGA ~ UF ~ Ole Miss ~ Mizzou

Tennessee: UF ~ Bama ~ KY ~ Vandy

Texas A & M: LSU ~ Arky ~ Mizzou ~ MS St

Vanderbilt: Tenn ~ KY ~ Ole Miss ~ UGA

PLUS a 9 game schedule

every team rotates the other 9 teams with a home and home with one oddball

make EVERY team schedule TWO teams from the other major conferences (exception being give for the Notre dames of the world)

that is 11 games - everybody gets to schedule ONE crappy cupcake

If you REALLY need another cupcake, set up a game with Maryland, Duke or Iowa State

You would see EVERY SEC team AT LEAST twice every four years

Top 2 teams play for the crown in Atlanta

Tell me this would not be badass....
