I don't understand how not liking black people is some sort of crime all of a sudden.

I don't like yankees or west coast hippies, but I don't think you could get fined and fired for that.

Him disliking them isn't the only reason people are hating on him. He's treated them like Posted Image too.

Its not.

But the NBA is a business. And when someone publicly jeopardizes the profitability of that business, well...the business will rectify the situation to maximize profits long term.

That's exactly what has happened here- the NBA has recognized the situation that this racist POS has put it in, and taken measures to eliminate the risk he poses to profitability.

We know being a racist POS in and of itself is not a crime mainly because no one is talking about throwing this guy in jail. The government isnt getting involved. No one is expecting law enforcement to get involved. Its a business handling it 'internally'

kind of like i would expect my company to do if one of its employees publicly said or did something that jeopardized my company's business.

is there a particular reason why you feel the urge to 'root' for a wealthy racist?

i mean, aside from the difficult life he leads...i know everyone roots for the underdog and all, and its not like what has happened to him over the past week or so was his own doing...

i'm no lawyer, so i don't know.

let me ask you...if the guy admits to it being his voice (as Sterling reported admitted today) then why would you have an issue with using this 'evidence?'
or are you just a big fan of legal loopholes?

time (and, potentially, lawsuits) will tell.
i can tell you one thing- if Sterling gets out of this on a technicality like 'illegal evidence' i, for one, won't be cheering for joy.

I'd have serious reservations about anyone who did, also.

Of course.  They had nothing to do with the girlfriend recording him.  If it came out that it was some crazy conspiracy where the NBA payed her to record him then he could sue and win.   Even then I'll bet the owners could vote him out, but he'd sue all of them too.

Bring it back to the point about cheating.   If your mistress records you talking about the affair and your wife somehow hears it, she's not going to care whether that recording was illegal.  She'll still have an easy divorce case with that tape as long as she did nothing illegal herself.

I think it's more about being crass enough and uncaring about the feelings of others that puts him in that position. It's easy enough to have manners and be nice. Not many people care about that anymore, though.
