Really; that's hard to believe for local kids who do little else but follow local basketball and have probably had friends or family members recruited by him.

Everything I read about him before the hire said that was one of the positives of hiring him; but y'all know better than me... if it's not even an attractive hire for the locals you have to wonder how he got hired at all.
Anderson has been away from Mizzou for too long for any of the recruits to recognize or remember him.

I honestly can't fathom having no D1 experience, and then hiring a staff that also has no D1 experience.

How are they going to recruit?

If I were that old and coaching D1 for the first time I'd be getting out the checkbook. Win at all costs at this point in his life

  He's been coaching at a school like an hour away, right?

I wasn't suggesting anyone would remember him from his days as a player or assistant at Mizzou; I figured kids would know him from his recruiting the area all these years at CMSU.

Regardless of whether or not he thought he had a good chance of landing the best players in the area, surely he still tried; as well as went to all the area high schools and fostered relationships there.

Anyway, sounds like he's going all in with assistants he's comfortable with, too.

Damn shame the "local kid makes good" story isn't being well-received by the fans; I always appreciate those instances when former players come back to their alma maters to coach.

You can't say this and then vehemently claim that Kentucky doesn't cheat to get players.

Judging from the fan reactions, I'd almost think he was just a temp hire until there are more viable candidates available in the future... the media pundits' reactions and some of the fans reactions seem to be completely at odds.

What do I have to be butthurt about?
Another Final Four? The UK /SEC records we broke?
The 3-0 sweep?

Get real.

Apparently you're butthurt about our stellar recruiting.  Rings hollow coming from Urban Meyer U.  And no one gives a damn what you did, you're second place in this league, bark as loud as you want about your little moment in the sun.  We still finished better than you lol.

There's that famed butthurt, back for an encore performance. Bravo!

Get a grip.
It's very obvious when I'm butthurt or whining or throwing a temper tantrum.
This is not one of those situations.

But it is a fine example of why everyone hates Kentucky basketball.

Only a Kentucky fan would assume I'm "butthurt about recruiting" after we just finished with a Final Four and better season in the same year that your team was supposed to go 40-0.

Only a butthurt Gator fan would manage to find a way to accuse Kentucky of cheating in a Mizzou thread.
