The problem for me isn't that we're bringing in a senior citizen. It's that we are bringing in a senior citizen that has no D1 head coaching experience.
I bet he's a really good X's and O's guy. Although he's never dealt with AA so it'll be interesting to see if they respond to his type of coaching once Fuller brings them in.

Yeah, I think he's a great X's and O's guy but it doesn't matter if we don't have talent.

@GatorUnvrsty, can you post a wall of stats telling me why this is a terrible hire?

I can't. I did read up on him, but as you point out, he doesn't have any DI stats to research.

I will say that he has undoubtedly proved himself in DII though; won his conference several times, finished 2nd a handful of others, won the DII NC, won at least 20 games 7 times, and at least 30 games 3 times.

If he can translate that formula to a stronger level of competition he could be good.

I'm one of those folks who doesn't necessarily equate success on a smaller stage as inferior.

It seems to me that if you were successful at a lower level, with the players that level brings, and against lower level competition, you should be able to duplicate the success with the better facilities, better budget, and better players that come with that step up. If he can coach, he can coach.

The only barrier I see, as others mentioned, is his and his staff's ability to attract the horses to run the race.

In that respect he's a lot like Tyndall at UT; both guys seem to know their trade, but what remains to be seen is if they can get prospects excited about their program... I think a lot of that is determined by image, first impression, and perspective, too.

One thing is for sure, though; the guy is a native Missouri cornerstone, and all the local kids will know him well, so he might have a lot of luck keeping them close to home.

Not a recruiter, that's why we NEED to keep Fuller on staff.

Too late all of our recruits just decomitted. Punter officially off the board as of this evening and Gant has commented that he will officially make the call in the next few days, but insider info points to him leaving as well.  Current players are evaluating their situation we'll learn more on who's leaving and who is staying through the week.   This is officially a dumpster fire.

From rivals:

Mizzou signee JaKeenan Gant responded to my inquiry about what the Kim Anderson hire means for his status with Mizzou with a simple, "I don't know".

Kevin Punter decommitted but told me that Mizzou, "May still be a possibility, but not sure at this point." He is visiting SMU this weekend and with the signing period winding down a commitment wouldn't surprise me.

All of this in 3 hours of time LOL

With this hire Alden is trying to run us into the freaking ground. I was hoping Anderson could assemble a decent staff with the possibility of Fuller, Peeler, and maybe English. Now Dave Matter said possible assistants are Mineral Area College's coach and Posted Imageing Pattonville High School's coach. No way would or should Fuller want to stay on for this Posted Image.
