Proud to say that Hugh Freeze forged his own way onto the FBS scene, rather than dragging along on the coat-tails of another HC.

I don't remotely care about the EB trophy. And, yes, I am completely serious.

Is that why he's such a bad coach? He had no one to teach him?

No, Strong was Meyer's DC; he went straight from Meyer and UF to HC at UL. Stoops went straight to HC from Spurrier.
Well that doesn't make any sense either. Why would this tree show any connection with Spurrier and Strong at all, if that's the case?

After a quick Wikipedia look-up, it appears Strong was a Zook hire right before the 2002 Gator season?

Do Gator fans like to pretend that the Zook years never happened? Hahaha

Boy that CMR tree out of Athens was pretty inspiring. How long has he been there and had none off his staff get HC gigs and make it?

Strong came and went at UF several times under several coaches. He was a GA under Pell in '83 and '84, then went to TAMU.

He came back as the OLB coach under Galen Hall and Gary Darnell, and then went to Ole Miss to coach WR's.

He came back again to coach DT's under Spurrier for 4 years, and then went to ND and South Carolina.

He came back again to be DC under Zook, and was the only assistant coach retained when Meyer was hired.

Meyer was his last HC before he got his own HC gig at UL.

So, if you want to call him a product of Pell, Hall, Darnell, Spurrier, Zook, and Meyer, fine; I just used the head coach he worked under last and longest.

Lol, got it.
I had no idea he had so many in and out relations with UF.

The guy must have liked coaching at UF to keep coming back under so many different HC's with so many different personalities... I always liked him; he's got about 15 total years at UF.

Look at this, a UT fan mocking coaching of all things.

UT is a perpetual coaching assembly line that ends off the side of a cliff

We may have wasted more talent but UT has put more in the unemployment line
