Breaking news.   UK starting QB Jalen Whitlow is leaving. Speculation is he is tired of the fan criticism,  and with the work Towles has put in plus Barker and Phillips,  the writing had to be in the wall.  He didn't have an SEC caliber arm so you won't see me losing sleep.  We've got better arms in our stable,  decision making and learning the play book are teachable.

Looks like Stoops asked him to move to WR and further down the depth chart.  This means there's legitimacy to all of the Towles and Barker hype.

Just don't get those first 2 guys hurt; you saw what happened to Florida by the time we were on our 2nd then 3rd starting QB of the season last year... start out 4-1 and 3-0 in-conference, and then lose our last 7 games.

I was disappointed to hear that he was leaving. I think we could have used his athleticism....but, he was never going to be the second coming of Randall Cobb.

Cobb is my most favorite player ever to come out of UK.

I'm 30 so I'm a little ahead of you.  One of the greatest QBs in SEC history.  UK-UT shootout back in like 1997 saw Couch and Peyton Manning throw for apx. 1,000 combined yards.  'Twas incredible even if the low down dirty Vols won.

Cobb is definitely second or third on my list, and in part because we took him right out of Knoxville's backyard.
