Hey, here's a novel idea; if you guys want to compare apples to apples, use the stats from common opponents instead of entire seasons where 1 team's schedule might be significantly harder than the other.

1. Only the biggest homer of all would truly think stupid SEC coaches magically figured it all out in 2013, but if you look closely, there really was no difference in how UGA played him from 2012 to 2013.
2. Peppers did not have a dropoff like Clowney did, and you are gonna have to prove that John Abe did before your point is factual.

1. Year to year improvements in Olines, changes in coaching staffs, accumulated film, change in O scheme, changes in Clowneys support on D, off the field issues to deal with, Clowneys change in goals, nagging unreported injuries, changes in off the season conditioning, more maturity from Clowneys, different treatment from the refs, the list of variables you can't see in a box score is pretty endless.

Comparing one year to the next and using a boxscore and not atleast game film is not a good way to draw absolutes.

Not all of that list is legit in this particular case but the parts that are closely relate to your reasoning with gurley.

Doubt it. UGA needed an unfortunate bounce from UT on an effort play to squeak out an OT win against one of the worst UT teams in memory last year.

There wasn't any "bounce" to it, little piggy just didn't know what a goal-line was.

Good point. The pig simply doesn't have gurley hands, which the vols didn't even have to face, which was the biggest variable heading into the game. Don't need a box score to recognize that fact, am I right smokeyone?

Was that the first or only game Gurley was not 100% for? Check the box scores before and after the game and average Gurleys carries, then compare it to the same 6 game span ( 3 games before and 2 games after). Gurley was missing time before and after the UT game. He wasn't expected to play in the UT game. And if you equipment guy wasn't full blown stupid putting the wrong cleats on Marshal and the WRs you game plan is as expected in the game. So if you want to talk variables, talk about your incompetent equipment guy not Gurley being out.
