Meh, I won't be happy if Auburn pulls Pearl, I think he's a great fit at Bama. I just don't think we're committed to the program.

Going to be interesting to see what happens either way. I wasn't aware of having Under Armor effecting a University, that's the most absurd shat ever. But of course this is America, and money does talk in basketball.

Auburn's compliance director worked for the NCAA at the time of the Pearl investigation and actually headed it.  Pearl ain't headed to the Plains folks.

It's new to me as well, but from what I'm gathering Nike owns the AAU, and that's literally how you find basketball talent today. I'm not sure how it restricts them, someone else can be more specific on that. But apparently, having under armor is bad, mmkay. /mr.mackey'd

Most runners, helpers, family friends, agents, uncles, AAU coaches- whatever the recruits are calling their handler - gets $ from Nike somewhere along the line.
No one wants to funnel players to an Under Armour school.

At least I think that's what the joke is.

Because Pearl has been so humble since being fired I think that whomever hires him could file an appeal and have the remaining time on his show cause lifted. Only 4 months left

Indeed, might just work; Cal can recruit the players and Barbee can coach them, since Cal isn't crazy about that part of his job... Caliparbee might make a good coach.
People forget Cals success when he didn't have All Americans everywhere on his roster. Haters have selective memory when it comes to him. He's won with less believe it or not

Less physical talent for sure.
Methinks he's accidentally recruited a bunch of dumbasses.

Barbee had to go...  He was worse than Lebo and never showed even steady progress.  On firing the guy while still in Atlanta, I understand the concern was wanting the players to hear first hand before cutting out today on spring break.  I guess that makes sense.

I never knew that the UA gear was hurting us but the AAU explain action makes sense.  Sounds like UA needs to tart paying some handlers!

sure his name isn't "Grant"?
