If you put the newest equipment from both of them side by side Dish's stuff is better, hands down. The Hopper is a better DVR than the genie, the slingbox adapter with DishAnywhere means just that, you can watch your live TV and DVR'd shows anywhere on the planet. Their wireless adapters in each room so you can access everything without having to be plugged in all through the house. Dish's newest stuff is flat out better. But if you're going from an older Dish receiver to the new one from Directv, i coudl see that.

Like I said though, I cut the cord. I just want the best internet speed I can get right now, and if Uverse will expand out my way I'll dump Cox and make that switch.

One thing I can promise you is dirct tvs remote works properly. Directs remote as you push the button. The dish one had to be held behind my chair facing the wall in the opposite direction and pushed five times before any channel would change. Then I'm told I have to sign a new two year contract and they won't guarantee it will work. Pissed me off. I don't do business like that.

are they even expanding it?

Our ATT dsl has been "capped" for years, waiting on UVERSE but I doubt it will ever happen. I'm sitting here at .65 mb/s..... using my verizon unlimited 4g at 10mb/s to do pretty much everything

They are where I am. My neighborhood is relatively all new construction. Uverse ends literally across the street from my hood.Supposedly we're supposed to have uverse available by this fall.

Lol.. you ain't lying. I used to have to use that technique.

After changing the batteries, now I have to point my remote torwards the ceiling and touch it to my dresser drawer in order to change the channel..

Directv better reach an agreement as well or I may have to look into another provider.  I have a hard time seeing as how they won't, heck they offer everything sports related.

No sat company will miss out. A few cable providers that still live in the Stone Age might
