Senior catcher Dylan Kelly tallied a two-out, two-run double to spark a three-run first inning and the Mizzou baseball team held on to defeat Chicago State, 6-3, on Sunday afternoon (Feb. 16) at Cowboy Diamond. Shane Segovia tallied three hits in the win, giving him five on the weekend despite only starting a pair of games. Keaton Steele picked up his second save of the weekend as he anchored a Tiger bullpen that was sensational on the weekend. In fact, the Tiger relievers combined to throw 11.2 innings, allowing no runs, just two hits and one walk while striking out 11. The Tigers are now 2-1 after the following weekend for the second time in three years. Reliever Ryan Phillips earned his second win of the season, going 1.2 innings, striking out to while not allowing a baserunner.
