Gamecocks drop game 2 to Florida by a score of 4-3 in 14 innings.

Or maybe it was 13 innings.

It was a long game regardless.

Rubber match tomorrow.

Tomorrow will tell the tale. Although, taking one on the road from us counts as a split as far as RPI is concerned for y'all I think. Is that true, @GoldenRebel ? That is assuming we win tomorrow, which is far from certain.

I'm happy with coming out of starkvegas with only one win, and we should still be easily in the conversation of hosting, but we should have won this series today, and it hurts like a mother Posted Imageer.

Tough losses always do. It nearly drove me nuts after the CWS last season that we played so well only to play like dung when it counted. But UCLA was a good team too, though. So it shouldn't have stung too badly. But it did.

This is the third game of the season where we have blown a lead and lost on a walkoff. Vs USC, Bama, and MSU.

Took the series from Tenn today. A midweek game against GT and then it's down to Gainesville.

Because they are lauded over as having the best stadium in the nation (they don't) and the biggest crowds in the country (they don't). Hell, we'll come in 2nd in attendance every season, though, I guess if we just start counting ticket sales.

I never understand why folks complain about and dispute attendance figures in college sports; they're all counted the same way... if LSU's are exaggerated, so are everyone else's.

The method of counting is mandated by the conference and/or the ncaa so there's a standard and the figures are uniform; in this era of 8-figure media contracts and conference networks, with all negotiations based on actual attendance and virtual attendance (TV viewers), the numbers have to be pretty accurate... there's some highly paid media penny-pinchers making sure everybody gets their dollar's worth.

If UAr counts every person in the stadium or arena, so do the other 13 teams. If they count tickets sold, so do the other 13 teams. If they count actual persons going through the gates, so do the other 13 teams.

I have no idea what the stadium capacities are, nor the quality of each one; but the Top 5 teams and 10 of the Top 25 in attendance per game are all SEC teams, with LSU leading by a significant amount (more than 3000 more at every game than the next closest team)...

UK baseball attendance will always be on the bottom end of the conference.  Basketball season is going on for the first half of the season, and as soon as that's over, Keeneland spring meet begins.  That takes us through to Derby.  After that if we're in the postseason great, if not, most of us turn to the Reds.  UKs spring game gets scheduled around Keeneland here, so as always, horses, basketball, and bourbon are king.
