Not a great weekend for Hog baseball. Went 1-3 out in Cali. Pitching is great, bats are apparently malfunctioning at a high rate.

Going to be a tough go for us in Florida.

Oh good, another series with no offense to speak of.
Better none than the other team having all the fun though.
Just finished one with UCONN. We swept, thank God.

1-0 in 11 innings, 2-1 in 10 innings, and 6-5 in 10 innings.

Lots of raw power, I think he's going to be solid. He's only had about 30 at bats so far, but he's leading the team in BA right now. I think he's hitting somewhere around .425 and his on base % is over .500

Don't think he's seen the field much at all though. DH primarily.

Awesome.  Glad to see him doing well, he's a really good kid.

Gamecocks have had a weak schedule so far.   But still....9 shutouts in 16 games is insane.

UVA and MSU have both been disappointing, but history points to UVA always being over rated so I will go with them.

Yes, our only tough matchup was the Clemson series.   But, like you say, 9 shutouts is outstanding against any competition.  And four shutouts in a row (the last 4 games).

SC defeated Furman last night 5-0 to stay undefeated going into conference play.

The sweep of SC last year is still keeping me warm for this season.
Until Arkansas punks us this weekend.

clemson was able to get some decent hits against us, so I don't expect we'll continue to dominate like we have(obviously). But this may be the most compete SC team I've ever seen. Amazing starters, deep bullpen, one of the best catchers in the country, good hitters, guys with speed, and good coaching staff. We'll need the team chemistry, but even that looked really promising during the clemson series. Should be another good/great season.

will depend on whose bats actually decide to work this week. Neither one of our teams is hitting all that well right now. UF is hitting .250 as a club and has scored I believe 64 or 65 runs in 16 games, last time I checked.

we are only hitting .266 as a club right now, and scored 74 runs through 13 games. We've only given up 35 runs this year so far though, held opponents to a .135 average, and have still lost 5 games.

UF has a team ERA of 3.04. Arkansas team ERA 1.88

Teams are batting.244 against UF so far, so maybe we can put some runs on the board.

Road series against a tough opponent. I always hope for 1, 2 would just be icing.
