He's going to be good. High avg guy his whole life and has some power. Think Martin Prado power. Good for 7-15 bombs a year when he gets a couple years under him. Can hit to all areas of field. Hit over.350 for his career at coastal. And is solid defensively.

I'm very excited about him. Our lineup is like 28th or 29th in nearly every meaningful stat vs right-handed pitching this year. We needed a lefty BADLY. Especially one that has hit for a high BA/high OBP at every level he's played at.

Can we package up La Stella and La Struggla and get Prado back?

It's time for an AV change...swept by a team that was on a 10 game losing streak. Only the Braves..

Wth I was watching til they blew a 5 run lead in game one. With Santana too it doesn't look good at all.
"I didn't come to Alabama to win 10 games a year and be a contender. I came here to win championships, Conference Championships, and National Championships. I love it here because that's not just what I want, but what this fan base expects." -Alabama Head Football Coach Nick Saban

good GAWD !!
"Whenever I see those crimson jerseys and crimson helmets, I feel humbled to have played football for Alabama. Other players in the NFL talk to me about their schools and their traditions. I just smile knowing the immense love Alabama fans have for our school and its football program. I'm proud to be a part of that Crimson Tide heritage."

If we get these bats going, we're going to go on a big winning streak. They're climbing out of it in Miami, won a close one last night and 3 runs so far today.

We're #1 in most NL starting pitching statistics, so it's very possible we're about to see some good baseball getting pass our roughest part of schedule.

TLS 2-3 today and has reached base 3 times in 4 plate-appearances.

I feel like the offense is about to take off. We're facing lesser opponents for the next month, guys like Heyward and BJ are coming around and now we add the lefty bat of TLS in there.

We need the pitching to stay sharp, though. Starters (namely Floyd and Santana) have fallen off a bit and the 7th/8th innings of games are still huge problem spots.

Shae Simmons just made his debut, looked absolutely filthy. Struck out Salty with three pitches, he could be the setup guy we need. The bullpen hasn't been as dominating as we're use to lately.

I didn't even realize Simmons had been called up until I saw him in the game just then,

He has been ridiculously filthy in the minors. Kimbrel-like. Not saying he's the next Rocketman, but I think you're exactly right Tider...he could be our new 8th inning righty since Carpenter appears to have dropped off the Earth.

Bullpen is literally the one aspect of this team that I think could keep us out of the playoffs. Excluding Kimbrel, I mean. Avilan and Carpenter have seen significant regression and Walden can't stay healthy.

Hopefully Simmons and a trade deadline lefty piece will help.
