1. Growing up in the south most of the MLB fans I’ve been around are either Braves or Cardinals fans, with the occasional geographical sect (TEX fans, MIA fans, etc). So there is the general ongoing encounters with asshole STL fans, not that they are all bad but they are just the ones I’m exposed to.
2. STL and Atlanta have been the most consistently competitive NL teams since 1990, only we can’t finish in the playoffs. So there is the competitive nature of the rivalry.
3. I had two dick professors who were STL fans that particularly turned me against them.
4. When it really reached a head was at the WC game in Atlanta. My wife and I were at the game for the biggest bullPosted Image call in the history of the game. Now, the call wasn’t the Cards’ fault. But the way their fans and players and Matheney were total assholes about it, acting like it was the right call and they won it fair and square was utter bullPosted Image. Not to mention it was Chipper’s last game, and we were the far and away more deserving team of a playoff spot that year anyway. Unless there is a tie, baseball is to precarious of a game to decide in a one game playoff.

As you can see, not any one thing it's just a buildup of all that stuff has really made me hate the Cardinals.
I think the Denkinger call was much more bullPosted Image.

As bad, sure. But there cannot be a worse call in baseball that the infamous infield fly. An umpire literally cannot be more wrong about a call.

BTW, the Cards' '85 tears are delicious

The infield fly rule is subjective, there is no definitive cut-off spot. The Denkinger call was undoubtedly wrong and indisputable.

The two worse calls I remember were that Jim Joyce call a few years back when we were in like the 17th inning with the pirates and the call that cost gallaraga the perfect game. Infield fly was also terrible

So, back on track here:

Floyd v. Lincecum today. I actually like our chances.

I'll put our O/U on runs at 4.5. What would y'all take on that?

I'll switch back if we turn this Posted Image around. Until then, y'all will have to settle for the occasional Kimbrel gif when I see the end of the game.
