I agree but I guess my real question was, is there an actual rule that gives criteria for setting the ball and resuming play?
doesn't the NFL use a rule where you can't snap till the ref is 5 yards behind the QB?

Do you know how many teams Alabama played last year that actually ran more offensive plays them them?

Four teams:
A&M 71 plays to Bama's 66
Ark. 64 to 61
Au 68 to 64
Okla. 74 to 65

Against Kent., Alabama ran 80 plays to Kent. 52.

No sir.  You gotta keep your head in the game.  It's another scheme to confuse a defense and an attempt to draw them off sides.

New rule.  You must be down 14 points when playing Alabama or Arkansas.  You also get just two plays per half on offense.

Refocusing the topic here, without this trash talk mess.

The main target with their preemptive proposal, with no documented players being injured, is to prevent it from happening. Look at every other sport, they all have periods of substitution or a break in a series of plays to bring winded players out and lessen the risk of injury while they're fatigued. That's the angle here mostly, these offenses are built to keep tired players on the field, prevent schemes from changing.

Some would say using that to your advantage is just as weak as proposing for these rules, all opinion honestly or how you view football.

Should the game be continuous?

The fast break offense changed and evolved basketball as we know it, but even they have substitution periods. These were the main questions asked from Saban, th number of plays comments aren't just for Alabama's opponents, but for Alabama as well. Many plays are ran by both sides, and the question is asked if college football should move in that direction. Not a complaint on HUNH alone.

The potential problems are there, whether or not people care about them is their opinion.
