Yeah that's a dick in the rear end for cost.  $12.50 a bullet? I'll stick with hollow points and FMJ's. They still take down assailants quite well.

Let me stop you right there guys.  Save your money.  This is 100% gimmicky bullPosted Image.  You can make just as impressive videos with just about any bullet.

Fragmenting ammo is not something new and 100 years of terminal ballistics research has shown that fragmenting designs out of a pistol are less effective than a standard hollowpoint.  The multitude of small lightweight fragments are just not traveling fast enough to cause significant tissue damage.

Save yourself some $$$ and just go get a modern, deep cavity hollow point and call it a day.  Get a bonded load if you think you might have to shoot through something.  Here's a few suggestions

Federal HST
Speer Gold Dot (bonded)
Winchester Ranger (available bonded and non)
Remington Golden Sabre (bonded)

And here's a lot of good information on terminal ballistics and performance of various bullets

I've heard putting mercury in a hollow point and sealing it with wax , makes a nasty hole.
