So, we're about at the midway point of the season, so I thought it'd be interesting to see who's showing up on SEC campuses to watch and support their teams.

I guess our team only plays for our fans. The road games don't count I reckon.

It's kinda sad how we only fill 75%  on average yet that is the third highest in the SEC.
I really expect ours to rise though, we have several SEC games sold out already and the ones with tickets left will have 8K+

Barnhill Arena was so loud it was ridiculous.9,000 folks crammed in to that place and everyone yelling.

I wish we could bring the games back there and make them earn playing in Walton by road wins.

That's the thing about having big arenas; it's great if your school has the fan support to fill it, but if it's huge and only filled to half capacity it still looks terrible on national TV.

Attendance in sporting events is down across the country....it's a strange phenomenon but is a growing trend.

Ain't no phenomenon; it's HDTV and ginormous screens being affordable for virtually everyone.

I think many forget that people have bosses that won't let them off early to drive 100 miles or more for the game. I would bet sat games are at a higher capacity than the mid week games. Then add in the cost of going to the games right after bowls and Christmas. Its up to the student body, faculty and those within 50 miles of the place to keep it filled on week day games.

You've hit the nail on the head.  I got a 55" flatscreen for Christmas.  It's snowing like you know what (or maybe you don't down there :D ) and I have a free ticket to the Georgia game this afternoon.  Right now, I'm thinking this mini-fridge full of beer next to the couch and that TV are a lot more inviting than going out in this hell weather to watch us pound Georgia.

Makes it a lot nicer than sitting in a stadium and freezing or burning, plus the lines to the "bathroom", the lines to get food, the prices of food...I just love to be home and watch the games no matter what games they are. Not to mention the problems with parking! One good thing about basketball arenas is no place you sit is a million miles from the action. It is a more intimate setting.  Nevertheless, I like to watch the games at home.

I prefer being at the game. You don't get the atmosphere and excitement while watching at home.

I blame the weather. Good to see Florida and OM of all programs for showing up. I'm gonna assume Henderson is helping their attendance.
Yeah, a combination of Henderson and actually having a possible bubble team really helps the attendance. You have to remember that we have only been to the big dance twice in the last 13 years so even having a small bubble chance gets a decently large crowd at the tad pad.

Direct results of the SEC neglecting basketball for too long. Quit scheduling so many pointless non-conference home games. Hey come watch us roll the 290th ranked team in the country five games in a row.
